"Your Governor Is Smarter Than Our Governor!!!"
Yes, he really is our Governor.

I didn't vote for Jesse Ventura, but I do remember thinking that even if he does win, it's only 4 years. Let's see what it's like to have him as a governor. How bad could it be??? Well.....
I think it's really a shame that the country hasn't been able to keep up with the day to day comments and decisions this man has made while in office. I was dissapointed when he decided, as he put it, "not to seek re-election, again". I wanted to see the political ads making fun of him. There is no end the the humor you can find in Jesse Ventura's comments and actions. The latest story is that he is refusing to turn over the security log-in for the govenor's mansion. It seems that he doesn't want the public to know who's visited the mansion during his term. This book would include not only dignitaries, but also his 22 year old son's friends. Turns out that one of the house guests was a convicted criminal who stayed for a month and vomited on the new linen after a night of drinking. The mansion manager issued a memorandum stating that they should keep this particular young man out of the public areas of the house.
For some good humor, everyone can follow the stories in our local news papers:

Or the local radio:http://www.kqrs.com/morningshow.asp
Hilarious cartoon:

Keep in mind, this is the Governor of Minnesota.
Very good humor here as well:

I know that from the outside, this is funny, but how would you feel if this was your Governor???
Don't forget to vote!!!

Jesse quotes:
"I asked him [Dalai Lama] the most important question that I think you could ask - if he had ever seen Caddyshack."
"Organized religion is a sham and a crutch for weak-minded people who need strength in numbers."
"Wrestling is ballet with violence."
''We're going to give the press a ten minute head start, then that's what we're going to hunt.''
''Anyway, I've done way more stupid things on alcohol than I have on pot.''

Umm...Would you like to be our next Governor, Sir Raoul
Although it is a temporary position, it does come with a rather large house. I also hear that you don't have to follow any rules, at all........

I don't think so...
I would have to say that your gov is smarter then ours.
Gov Ryan slithered past the whole political bribes for CDL license thing due to his relative being the States Atty.
He also did a no re-election thing, to keep people off him.
Suprise : The States atty Ryan is running for gov now.
He sided for no O'Hare expansion...but finally got his head out of his rear and sided with it, so he did do one thing right in 4 years, but while looking stuipd in the process.
Don't know why he thougth that he could go against Manor Daily & Chicago.
As my friend on the job says...The state of Cook county ( chicago's county ) does what they want.
Sorry no drinking at the mansion here, I think they burned the visitor's log so nobody could be tracked in the bride case <g>
Remeber operation GrayLord, even our judges here are corrupt. Nice legacy that Al Capone left us huh ?
Payola....The Chicago way....

Jesse couldn't much more stupid than Florida Governor Jeb Bush. When Bob Graham was Governor the State was always in the Black. When Lawton Chiles was the Gov, the State was always in the Black. Bring in Jeb Bush and deficit spending is rampant and the budget has the worst shortfall in history. Jeb Bush is a real Dumbass..... but at least Jesse is funny.
Who is running against Gov Bush in the election......Janet Reno. I probably won't even vote for Gov if those are the only 2 choices.

I'll say it - I voted for Jesse - and I had a little bit of the same thought -its only for four years - how bad can he screw things up? Well, here we are a couple of years later. He has done some good things (reformed property taxes, reduced income taxes, reduced license tab fees, etc..) but he has also made an idiot of himself. Those of you who don't live here only get the sugar coated news about Jesse, since the national media seems to have some love affair with him. While not a real politician, it would have been nice to have a governor who was somewhat engaged with the legislature instead of pouting and walking away when he didn't get his way. Thats the only way things ever got done with him - if it persoanally affected Jesse and he could turn it into a battle of him against the world. Jesse wasn't really about what was best for Minnesota - it was all about what was best for Jesse.
If you couldn't tell, had he run again, I wouldn't have voted for him.

I'll seconded that for the Ill. Gov. Ryan.
That incompentent du-muss. Look at our ILLINOIS FIRST Program. Telling us this and that how it will help the state! Now part of that program did help the state but most of it was not needed, now we are in a major buget crisses {sp}, and the buget in the red!
Like SSCULLY said I'm sure he didn't know anything about the CDL scandal!
Thats a bunch of hogwash.. OK I got that off my chest, sorry for the ranting.

Raoul,
More a case of we are not corrupt enough to run for goverment.
The person that gets elected owes the more favors is the general rule.
That is why all the horse ***** goes on after the fact, they are paying back the favors that they owed to get elected.
The general knowledgable public would never run, due to the fact that we all have some limit to morals. Elected officals....moral removal is the second surgery after the frontal lobodamoy (sp?).
Look out for the Hillery Clinton / Jesse Jackson combo for Pres / VP 2 elections from now.
Talk about alot of favors due <g>, our taxes will make Canada's or England's look reasonable.
sms
"I really had no idea this was going on when I ran the DMV"
- Then Sec of State for IL Ryan

Hey! Send him to Texas...
I'm d*mn tired of both the Democrats and Republicans.
Democrats would steal a hot stove.
Republicans would put gloves on first.
Democrats will empty your pockets on giveaway programs to the poor.
Republicans will empty your pockets on giveaway programs to the rich and corporations.
Democrats want to steal all your economic rights.
Republicans want to steal all your personal rights.
As Claire Wolfe said in , "101 Things To Do 'Til the Revolution" :
"America is at that awkward stage. It's too late to work within the system, but too early to shoot the bastards."

On the plus side, I'm sure Candy will be single again soon!!
LOL
J/K about the EWE thing. Lets send him somewhere else!!!!

Im with ya AjRagno
I cant understand how in the heck he ever got elected in the first place??? I mean educated, smart people voted for this buffoon. Im a moderate Democrat but I would have rather seen good old Normy in there.
U mentioned KQ, Tommy B, Bob, Jeff, Stretch, Terri, Bryce...they're all awesome and I wake up to them every morning. Funny how when Ventura was running in the election Barnard couldnt say enough good things about Ventura, and to an extent I agreed with him. But now Tommy wont speak to him or acknowledge that he has any redeeming qualities at all. Yeah he shocked the world, and shocked us with his utter stupidity and lies.
Another thing that gets me is all his talk about being a "Navy Seal ya know" and how he has "hunted man." That a$$ never set foot on Vietnam or anywhere close to any sort of combat. He was a friggin stock clerk and cleaner. Not much was publicized about it but Ventura had to admit that he infact isnt a Navy Seal and has never seen combat. I dont think much was made of it because it was either right before or a little after 9/11. If he had truly ever seen combat he would have pi$$ed his panties, froze and gotten killed. And he certainly would never brag about it.
My future father-in-law did a tour in Vietnam and nobody in the family really knows anything about it. He just doesnt talk about it and it affects him to this day. All I really know is that he was drafted, was over there for a year and at some point a helicopter he was in was shot down over enemy lines.
Ok...stepping off my soapbox now. I just really detest Ventura and all of his crap. Somebody wrote into the Star Tribune and made some comment about how his PR guy Wodele will be needing a new job soon and how the Shrine Circus is looking for someone to follow the elephant around with a shovel and a pail to clean up the mess that it leaves behind.
Couldnt have said it better myself.

I guess that unless you actually live here, it's hard to relate.
It's not that he committed crimes, he's just behaved like a complete moron. He's like the drunken brother-in-law that won't shut up.
I could go on and on, but I really think that only us Minnesotan's really seem to know how it's been.
