The US played a great game but were basically out sized and outmuscled by the bigger Germans

I for one am very very proud of our boys and how they played this game. They had some shots and some unlucky bounces and calls but all in all a great game.

I really think the level of play in the US has reached a point that by the next cup the US can be expected to contend.

GO USA and we'll get them next time......

 

Yeah, too bad.
You could have done our whole nation a big big favor by eleminating them.
You had the chance today, the germans did not play that good as they use to do.
The US is just missing that little extra but they played well.

Maybe next time when Holland is present again (hopefully) in 2006.

Well, I've been in mourning the past two days. (I took off work Friday to watch the match)....

I too am very proud of the US and the success that they had in the tournament. They played as a unit yet came up a tad short when it counted.

Hats off to the German side...and more specifically, KAHN in the German goal. (Kahn was the difference in the match-which goes to show that a goalkeeper CAN AND DID win that match). They were solid in the air and a very tough team to deal with.

A 1-0 loss to a team of that caliber is NO disgrace whatsoever and, for that case, making it to the Quarters was certainly an accomplishment!
