What this board does best

Roughly one and a half months ago, I asked for a little help for a young lady recently arrived in the US who's parents decided to move her from a public school to a private one. Not a snobbery thing, they could hardly afford it but wanted the best education they could get for the girl.

As I posted, she arrived in the last 1/4 of the school year with no friends and was having a hard time adjusting. I became aware that there was a project in her class which involved contacting people outside the area and asking them to send postcards to the members of the class. I asked you folks to help out.

I heard from her mother today that she received not only the most post cards but also the ones from farthest away (was that you CeesJan? anyway from Amsterdam the Netherlands) and the most interesting ones. She won the "prize".

As I understand it, she now is more than accepted in her new school environment and is one very happy camper. While I am sure a lot of that was due to her own personality and initiative, the response from the f150online family was obviously a great help.

I thank you for that.
Bill

Thumbs up

Bill,

I'm glad to hear Tia did well with her project. I think it's really cool that so many people from this board chipped in to help her out. I wasn't sure too many people would do it, after all the thread you started didn't receive too many replies. I wonder how many postcards she received total? Thanks for the update on her project!
