Would you stray from Ford?

If you did what would you replace it with? Dodge, GM, Toyota, Nissan? I'm currently looking at a 2002 Dodge Quad Cab SLT Sport. I liked it above the supercrew. It seemed to have more storage inside and rode better (to me). I also am attracted to a more agressive line. What is your take?

if i were to stray from ford id go with (dont hate me) chevy. i love the look of the new silverados, and they make plenty of power too. build quality is about equal to ford also.

Anyone who's read my recent posts knows that I'm not too pleased about the decline of my '97 F-150.

As my truck started to fall apart more and more, I began to think very hard about what the toughest truck available would be. The Jeep Wrangler seems to fit the bill very well. Bullet proof engine and axles along with a straight forward and basically unchanged, utilitarian design make it very appealing to me.

I'm waiting to see if the 2003 Rubicon is worth it and will more than likely let my truck go very soon.

If I was going to stray from Ford, I'd get me a Hummer with a custom jet engine under the hood. Yeah baby ~~ !!

If you weren't going to use the truck for heavy towing the Tundra would be a good choice. A guy at work bought one about a year ago and he loves it. Rides good, and gets good gas mileage.

Yes I would stray from Ford, but I would not stay from Ford in the trucks catagory. With the exception of the Dodge Dakota's and the old GMC Typhoon/Cyclone I've never really liked other trucks that much.

Chevy's - nice but not big on the interior, escpecially the full size trucks.

Dodge - the Dakota's are nice, are the Ram's are great work trucks but I wouldn't like it for everyday driving, to rough for me.

Toyota - not real trucks, I'm not knocking them but I don't think the Tundra can compete with anyother full size truck when it comes to towing or payload capacity.

Don't think I'd stray, but if Ford went out of business, I'd probably have to go with the Toy.
Every GM product I've owned has fallen apart on me.
The Dodges, well I think they're UGLY and the few people i've know who owned them aren't all the pleased with them.
I guess that would make it easier to decide which boat to buy also, one that satys in the water.

If Ford can do it right with the next gen F150, I think I'll stick with Ford. At least for the next one.
If Ford can't build a decent truck in the near future I think I might look into a four door sport sedan. I like tons of the cars out there. Maybe an Audi, Acura, or Infiniti. I would definitely be spending more than I would on a Ford but I think they would be worth it.

I like the new GMC 3/4 ton heavy duty pickups. Id take one with a crew cab, short bed, Z71 package, and of course, in black!

That's really a tough question!
There's no way I'd buy a Chevy. They're way too conservative.
The Dodge would be a consideration. but the new Rams are so fugly.
Definately no Jap trucks for me.
Sometimes I sit in the garage and just look at that F150, and think how cool it looks, and how comfortable it is.
If I couldn't buy a new Ford, I think I'd look for a '67, 8 or 9 Ranchero with a big block in it.

I'm already gone. I have been burned mostly by my dealer. I will not consider even another Ford truck until well in to the next redesign. Now that I am used to not working out of my truck, I really wanted a Lightning. I just can't go through another experience with my POS dealer. The only other dealership that is within 30 minutes of me is a butthead too. I am not about to drive 45 minutes to find a good dealer. I will probably look into a 91-97 Land Cruiser by the end of the year. I just wish this Lemon Law process was a little quicker on the Lairat.
