Anyone seen one in person? It was at RT 66 last night because the Chicagoland Dodge dealers were sponsoring the NHRA race. I'll tell you what if they EVER produce this thing I might have to jump ship.
I'll tell you up close this thing looked sweet. 500 horses from the the Viper's 488 ci. It had a nice looking scooped functional hood. 24" wheels with 305/30's. Huge dual exhaust exiting the rear. It looked like all it needed was the BIG window sticker and it would be sellable. Is it a done deal as far as Dodge making this thing?

I saw one at the NY Auto show and anywhere specs were on the truck in big bold letters were Dodge SRT-10 Show Truck. My friend called a dealer here about one and they are taking orders but they dont know the sticker yet. He might trade in his 01 Ligthning for it i told him dont. But if this so called truck comes out the way it was shown at the auto show and my friend gets it we will have a nice match race
. But im not scared i hope they build competiton is always good will make Ford make a better Gen 3 Lightning if they do make one.

I agree Badazz, it's about time Ford gets some competition. I can't wait to see what Ford will do if the Viper truck does come out.
Hey Jeff, I thought the SRT has a 505 c.i. in it. Did I hear wrong? Its the new Viper 8.3L isn't it?
There have been many critics of the SRT-10, but I got to say it is one bad a$$ truck. I don't understand why people criticize something that will be the fastest production truck on the market. Of course that's IF it actually is coming out. So is it coming out for sure? Dodge should announce any day now if they plan on selling them for '03. Waht have you guys heard? You say they are taking orders?

No, I'm pretty sure the 8.3L in the Viper truck is 505 c.i. Can someone back this up? I mean they wouldn't call it the new 500, 500, 500 Viper if it didn't have 500 c.i. of engine. Yeah I think this is right- the new viper engine which is in the SRT-10 viper truck is 505 c.i., produces 500 HP and 500 ft/lb of torque. This is why they call it the new 500 500 500 Viper engine. I think it is going to be the standard engine now in the '03 vipers, along with the viper truck if they produce them.
Yeah, it's a 505. The old Viper motor is a 488... The only way they decided they could get more power out of it was to increase displacement....
How about maybe adding some technology to the motor?
Don't get me wrong, I LOVE the Viper, I love the new Ram SRT-10, (Which WAS officially announced for manufacturing starting this August), and I've always loved the motor. I just think it would be sweet if they got the motor as advanced as something like Honda's V-Tec motors... Could you imagine an 8.3L motor with over 100hp per liter, from the factory?
