Stanley Cup Finals
What is your Prediction for the Stanley Cup Finals? Mine is Detroit in 5! Go Wings!

GO WINGS!! How about game two? Wings score one when they're short handed. Then late in the third two goals back to back within 50 seconds to eliminate any chance of OT. Now they're just gonna have to finish it out without losing so we can win at home, don't need to push it to game 7. If it gets to that though, win or lose, I bet the police are getting the riot gear ready.

Is this some ugly hockey or what? The Canes try to win every game one to nothing. Clog up the nuetral zone. If the Wings were to play the same way, nobody would watch. It would be too booorrrriiinnnngggg. As usual, the Wings are outplaying, outshooting, and outchancing the opposition. Irbe's the only reason the Canes even have the slightest of chances. The oldest guy in hockey scores the winner in triple overtime. Ya gotta love it.
believe it or not, this is coming from a ranger fan. (i know we are among the core of the problem).
i want detroit to win.
why?
to show that you just cant win in this league with such lop-sided spending. the rangers are among the guiltiest, but detroit is right there with them, dallas, colorado and others follow.
its sad when the same few teams gobble up the big money players in an attempt to buy a cup. if detroit does, i hope that this will be good fodder for establishing a salary cap that will help spread the league players evenly, and maybe, just maybe, even keep good hockey in canada (like it should be).
maybe this will open some eyes, and bring about a postive change. i cant imagine what it would be like to watch the rangers develop though more of a youth movement, but i have wanted to see this for years.
my heart wants carolina
my head wants detroit.

salary cap,,,, tell that to the LA Lakers
lol,,, and the ny yankees, yes sometimes i do feel a bit bad about buying players,, but hey,, the core of the teem here in detroit was acquired when they were young,,, its what started it all really. We had the russians for cheap until carolina tried to steal away fedorov. But now to keep the cup, we need to keep up with the times and not let other teams rip off the cup with a slew of new players.

whitetoast,
your right about getting some of those guys young and keeping them. then theres the robataille's, hull's, and hasek's.
its really a good blend there they have a mix with the players they developed and the ones they bought.
thats will kills me about new york. they just buy ***** and throw it together. its like a garage sale of sorts, no chemistry.
it killed me last year when ny sent mike york up north. its a love hate relationship i have with the team. i guess its like having a bad son. he might suck, but he's still my kid.
i wish the league could level this out somehow and maybe have some sort of revenue sharing, but i think this might be the stuff that brings the next player strike.
