I don't know if it is interchangeable or not (someone let me know), but I have a spare wiring harness from an '00 F250 that has both the 7 pin round and 4 pin flat connectors on it that I could let go pretty cheap. This is about the last 16" or so - unplugs from the wiring up near the bottom of the bed and includes the bracket that mounts to the bumper. I can get a FORD part number and post it when I get home this evening if you want. For that matter, I can post some pictures of it.

Ok I bought this thing an Meijer. It is the 7 pin RV connection thing that fits the plug on the bumper. Then I had an extra 4 flat connector for a vehicle, so I took apart the 7 pin thing (as you're supposed to) and wired my 4 flat to it. That way I don't have to leave that 7 pin thing on the boat so if someone else tows it, they can still wire in. However, my lights are acting weird, so I've got some bugs to fix. Left or right turn gives me hazards, hazards gives me nothing. Then lights and brakes are backwards. Anyone know what could be causing this? I used the diagram on the cover of the truck wiring socket to know where to put the wires on the meijer piece.

when wiring a four flat plug . the white is ground . the brown is tail/running lights , the yellow is left turn , the green is right turn . now them colors don't entirely match the 7 way bargman plug you have . on it the brown from the four flat would go to the connection for the green wire , the green wire goes to the connection for the brown wire . the yellow goes to the connection for the red wire . and the white goes to the connection for the white wire . that oughta fix you up

Or if you want to go easy and cheap, just buy a 7 round to 4 flat adapter like this. It just plugs right into your standard connector, then you plug your 4 flat connector into it. I bought one at Wal-Mart a while back.

I have it wired exactly as you said. When I did it, I looked at the cover on the truck end and it said what each prong does. I checked it against what you posted and thats exactly what I got. The problem almost seems like something outside of the adapter. When i hit signals, it does know to flash, it just flashes both. Then Lights and Brakes are just reversed. Almost like something on the truck is messed up. The trailer lights worked fine last time I checked them when I used my Mustang to pull it.
