Newport Beach, CA
These questions are for any members living in the Newport Beach vicinity. I working and staying in Newport Beach area on an extended business assignment.
First, can you recommend an area Ford dealer for service?
Also, (this may sound stupid) but I have been unable to find a self-service car wash in order that I can clean my F150. I've found a couple of car washes (not self-service), but I don't like anyone else touching my truck. Does anyone know of a nice self-service car wash in the area?
Thanks for your help. This is a BEAUTIFUL area! I am really happy that I was given this assignment.

CBechtel,
Welcome to Orange County. I had to laugh a little when I read your post. For those not familiar with out little county south of LA, you have landed in one of the most expensive parts of the country and as you have found not too many people that live in that part of town mow their own lawns or wash their own cars.
A small 1500 sq foot three bed room fixer up house in that neighborhood averages about $500,000.00-$600,000.00 and the closer you get to the pacific ocean or further south to Laguna Beach or Dana Point the more expensive the real estate.
If you want to wash your own car you will have to drive North proabaly into Huntington Beach (not a bad drive up PCH)or Costa Mesa. But even then I'm not sure you'll find one. Usually the self serve car washes are in your rougher neighboorhoods (Santa Ana or Westminster).
I've only had my trucks for a few months and have only had an oil change so I can't vouche for any dealers and I'm not sure I know of any truck guys in that neighboorhood. I got a buddy that lives in Newport and he owns German cars.
I'll call around and see what I can find.
How long are you going to be here? I think there is an f150 get together in a couple of weeks, let me know if you might want more info.

Thanks for the reply! Yup, I know it's expensive. Fortunately, I've found a nice place to stay, close to work, and it is not costing me an arm and a leg. I travel extensively, so I have learned to live on a reasonable budget while on the road and find the right places to stay. At least Newport Beach is not like Lakeshore Drive in Chicago, I understand it is against the law to drive a pickup truck on that street (Chicago members, please correct me if I am wrong). I plan on doing some exploring, so perhaps I will run onto a self-serve car wash where I won't get hit over the head. Thanks again for your response. Maybe we can get together for some F150 talk while I am here. Have a GREAT weekend!
I lived on 18th street on the Balboa Peninsula. I was actually lucky enough to have a 2 car garage where I could wash and wax my crx (a few years ago!!). I honestly can’t remember any self serve car washes anywhere in Newport. I used to work at the BMW dealership so I really had two places to wash my car. I miss that area very much. I’ll be out there in June for a few weeks, I can’t wait! Good luck in your search!
