Somewhere, in a secret cave, someone is staring at this patriotism registration form and scratching his head in confusion. I love it.

IMMIGRANTS, NOT AMERICANS, MUST ADAPT.

I am tired of this nation worrying about whether we are offending some individual or their culture. Since the terrorist attacks on Sept. 11, we have experienced a surge in patriotism by the majority of Americans.

However, the dust from the attacks had barely settled when the "politically correct" crowd began complaining about the possibility that our patriotism was offending others. I am not against immigration, nor do I hold a grudge against anyone who is seeking a better life by coming to America. Our population is almost entirely composed of descendants of immigrants.

However, there are a few things that those who have recently come to our country, and apparently some born here, need to understand. This idea of America being a multicultural community has served only to dilute our sovereignty and our national identity. As Americans, we have our own culture, our own society, our own language and our own lifestyle. This culture has been developed over centuries of struggles, trials, and victories by millions of men and women who have sought freedom.

We speak ENGLISH, not Spanish, Arabic, Chinese, Japanese, Russian, or any other language. Therefore, if you wish to become part of our society, learn the language!

"In God We Trust" is our national motto. This is not some Christian, right wing, political slogan. We adopted this motto because Christian men and women, on Christian principles, founded this nation, and this is clearly documented. It is certainly appropriate to display it on the walls of our schools. If God offends you, then I suggest you consider another part of the world as your new home, because God is part of our culture.

If Stars and Stripes offend you, or you don't like Uncle Sam, then you should seriously consider a move to another part of this planet. We are happy with our culture and have no desire to change, and we really don't care how you did things where you came from.

This is OUR COUNTRY, our land, and our lifestyle. Our First Amendment gives every citizen the right to express his opinion and we will allow you every opportunity to do so. But, once you are done complaining, whining, and griping about our flag, our pledge, our national motto, or our way of life, I highly encourage you to take advantage of one other great American freedom
THE RIGHT TO LEAVE.

There is so much BULLSH*T in your post that it is hard to know where to begin.

This country has been a melting pot since the first ships arrived. Multiple languages have been spoken since the beginning, and are still spoken in many cities like Chicago. The countries may have changed these days, but the people are still the same... coming to America to make a new life. Go to San Antonio and tell someone there about your white boy, all English views. It has been majority Hispanic long before you were ever born. What we don't need is xenophobic divisive whites like you who have somehow decided that it is YOUR country. It aint.

Whose lifestyle and culture. Your redneck style? I defy you to name one single culture in the States. I got news for you... there aint one! Is it Italian? Greek? Western? Laid back Californian? Texan? You spout so much crap when you talk of "our own culture".

This country was NOT founded on Christian principles. The majority of the Founding Fathers were NOT Christian. People came here to escape the stifling Christianity of the time. This country was founded on the principle of freedom of and from religion. Why do you d*mn right wing bible bangers feel that you have the only "right" religion, the only "right" God? You're no different than the Muslim extremists who think they have the market cornered on the right religion. God doesn't offend me... religious bigots offend me.

Want someone to take I hike? I'll keep my foreign language speaking neighbor. I vote that YOU take a hike. I've no use for your religiously intolerant xenophobic... hell.. racist... policies.

PS: I know the rant you posted isn't your original material... but it is still reeking garbage.

Beastrider it is your post that smells of half-truths and lies.

FACT: The founders of this country came to escape 'mandatory' Catholicism.

FACT: 'Most' of the founders of this country WERE Christians.

FACT: Worship or don't worship as you choose.

FACT: You obviously have a hatred of Christians by generalizing them as "rednecks".

Fact: You should read for meaning. I called no Christian a redneck. You're making a ridiculous stretch.

Fact: George Washington died without professing any religion. Thomas Jefferson was a Unitarian. Thomas Paine rejected all religion. I'll post a URL so YOU can get your facts straight.

I support anyone's right to worship as they choose. I will fight anyone who chooses to try and make Christianity the "official" religion.

You're right about Paine and Jefferson, wrong about Washington. My "FACT" is correct in "most" founders were Christians. I can show you some sites too if you wan't to play that game also. Web sites have been and can be distorted to prove or disprove anything without doing independant confirmation or study by oneself with "actual" documentation of eyewitness or confirmed accounts.

Analyze your post and it links 'redneck' and 'Christian'. Not to mention all of the blind hatred. I don't believe Ford4Fun is trying to force religion on anyone. He is just trying to show the so-called 'tolerant' ones their own intolerance.

Many of the "first" settlers of North America were in fact people who were oppressed because of their religious beliefs. Freedom of religion was their goal. Others wanted to keep their beliefs uncorrupted by a more and more liberal Protestant church. The Quakers and Puritans were such groups. Later waves of new worlders were more interested in the opportunity to better themselves that was presented to them by the Americas. By the time the Declaration of Independence was signed, nearly 300 years of colonization had past. Christianity was still very much the dominant religion and was sure to leave it's mark on the documents of the time. The founding fathers were still wise enough to make provisions for freedom of religion.

Christianity in all it's forms, while well meaning, has always been very unbending in it's drive to force itself on the populace of all areas of the world. It is very intrusive and unforgiving of those that do not bend to it's will. If you have heard the word of the lord and do not except it, you are bound for hell. Period. No thank you. I say keep it to yourself and leave the rest of us alone.

I do agree with Ford4Fun that immigrants should learn English and adopt the rules our society has developed over the years. If their previous culture has qualities that will add to our current constantly changing society, they will be adopted and added to the melting pot. It has never been a smooth transition from foreigner to neighbor in this country and likely never will. Not trying to learn and to speak the language of the people that you are wanting to be accepted by is just ridiculous to me.
