Lightbulb Will Ford have an answer for the Avalanche (ie the Himalaya)

The avanlanches are ugly but I like the functionality. Sure wish Ford would build the Himalaya or the Dersert Excursion...... Hello FORD are you listening........

Sportrax is a good start but I would like to see bigger and more sturdy platform. To me the Sportrax is just a good use of the old explorer frame. I really like the size to the 150/Expedition/Himalaya or the F250/Desert Excursion. More Power too for towing.

Does anyone know of any aftermarket shops that could possibly help with a 4x4 Expedition to Himalaya conversion?

I'd be willing to chop one up to try.

Don't forget Ford is the first of the big ones to downsize. Wth the increase in gas prices, I bet they wont come back with anything like that. A sport Escape will fit the bill nicely. Or quad cab Ranger even better.

they need a supercrew with a 6 1/2 ft bed. chevy has a 1500 HD 4 door with a 6 1/2 footer. its only available engine is the 6.0L in a 1/2 ton.

Otter- I definately agree. My dad is going to the dark side come the end of this year ( buying a new 03 Chevy 2500 HD). He has had new fords for the past 15 years (F150's, E150's, Expeditions, and explorers).

I think if he could get the super crew with a 6.5 foot bed, he would. That would be one sweet truck!

I've had 4 new trucks since 1990. Never owned one more than 3 years. My 2000 will be 3 years old the end of August, and I'm not replacing it anytime soon. Ford does not have a truck that I'm interested in. I need a longer box for the Screw, and I'm really not interested in going to a Superduty at this time. I really like the 1500 HD, but can't bring myself to buy a Chevy. I really hope the new model 150 coming out in a year from now will have something for me. If not I'll look at something else.
