Unhappy Worried about Passing Inspection in Texas

With the new emissions inspections that are now in affect in Texas I am worried I will not pass. I have cat-back and headers should I be worried?

My inspection is now due this month.....

I doubt you will have a problem. As long as your mods are not so severe as to throw off your engine management computer, your emissions shoud be fine.

You can find out for sure what effect your mods will have at the California Air website. It shows all approved mods. They only get approved if they don't screw with emissions levels.

You said it was Cat-Back

As long as the Cats are still in place, you should not have any problems. That cats do a great job of pulling out alot of the pollutants. Yeah, they rob you of power, but..... I am in Dallas as well. Looking at the same issue. I did go a step further. When I added my exhaust, I made sure that it was all bolt on. As well, I kept the old exhaust. Made it bolt on as well. Now, when I go to get it inspected, I unbot the custom, and bolt back in stock.

Really a cool setup.

should of had coffee with me at the kwik lube last saturday a/m. got there at six a/m read paper, tinkered with truck and when doors opened at 8,was first in line in and out in 20 minutes, saved 20+ bucks,a years grace(it would have expired in sept.), and had my wife thinking i was at a girlfriends(it,s good for her to think that),just another way for the politicans to scam our hard earned greens, should look at the airlines, remember after 9/11 when they closed down airport how clear the sky was for those days when you looked towards dfw in the evening? didnt need million dollar sensing stations to know who the main pollutters are down here. see ya on the bush(190)

Yeah I am kicking my self now for not doing it earlier but I just never had the time.

I remeber that is was kind of wierd to look towards DFW and not see a sinlge plane in the air.

I am not on 190 as of yet I am in the Addison area but will heading north this june when my house is finished. I will be bordered with Frisco living in Plano.

if you think your airport is bad, come to houston, well actually Pasadena. We have entire towns that you drive through with the windows up and the ac off.

and they say our cars are the problems
