That happened at the snowmobile races up in Wisconsin somewhere...should have known better given the mild winter everyone experienced this year.

I bet the bill to get those rigs out of there wasn't cheap.

The pictures are from Big Detroit Lake in Northern Minnesota. They parked where they do every year even though the ice was less than 12 inches thick. It was a rather mild winter.

I'm guessing the really bad news came when they tried to make an insurance claim - most policies have clauses that cancel coverage if the vehicle is driven onto or into ice or water. Designed specifically for such situations as the one pictured, I imagine...
