Pressure washers. what to get?

Has any one purchased one of these electric 1600PSI pressure washer s from Home Depot?
I almost bought one, but I though that I would get some professional opinoins first.
I just need one for home, to wash the deck, the boat and the truck. I think something aroun 2000psi would be good.
Any thoughts on what ot get?
And just as important, what NOT to get?

Thanks!

Never used an electric washer. Just seems that water and electricity dont go together.

Anyways I have a Honda.

I rented one a long time ago and was impressed with what it could do.

I borrowed my brother's and was not as impressed. I think it's one of those Home Depot machines. Couldn't say what the PSI is.

My feeling is this, it's better to have more psi than you need and scale it back than to have to run wide open with all you got and have to stand in one spot for what seems like forever to do what you're trying to do. If the machine isn't strong enough you will stop using it and it will just sit in the garage.

I've got a good mind to just tell my brother to come pick this thing up. After two years I bet I havent' used it 3 times.
I really wish he wasn't such a tight-wad and would buy better stuff!

it hard to beat the small electric ones for small jobs. the gas ones are more powerful but remeber you have to gas it, oil it and worry about it starting if you dont use it for a while. if you use it often for medium to big jobs get a gas one, if you clean the driveway and walkways 2 to 3 times a year and maybe the garage every now and then get the electric.

Well I bought one in Cosco 1500PSI Electric. And it does the job. I read an article and it stated that you do not want to use more than 1000PSI cleaning your deck, because you will damage the wood with that much pressure. I do not know if it true or not, but my 1500PSI did a great job cleaning my deck, and my vynil siding on my townhouse.
