Why not finish college, then become a policeman?

College grads aren't banned from becoming cops you know.

In Maryland/DC/VA the majority of the police department are requiring at least an Associate Degree to submit an application to be a police officer.

Those cars are just show cars. They go to police shows, DARE meetings, etc. It's just sorta eye candy for the public to see. Some places have them as pursuit vehicles.

They're not practical for everyday patrol use. How you gonna transport a prisoner in there? Gotta call for a Crown Vic to do it.

They are schweet though

Law enforcement here has several 'two-seat' vehicles.

On Saturday night they just strap me to the hood like a 12 point buck.

Actually the cops around here have a couple corvettes they use as pursuit vehicles for speed enforcement on the highways. A guy in a regular cop car shoots radar, the corvette chases then when he pulls over another cop comes in to write the ticket.

Our local Highway Patrol, or now they are all called state troopers had 2 or 3 Camaro's as persuit cars for the last 6 years or so. One of the patrolmen is a family friend and nieghbor and got to drive one quite a bit. He didnt like it at all, it was bad in the winter on ice, he couldnt carry anyone in it-had to wait for another car to come, and the tranny would fall apart every couple of months so it was in the shop a lot anyway. I never really understood why they had them, the crown vics will go plenty fast for just about anysituation.

Around here our confiscated drug car that DARE uses is an early 90's Eseries--our drug dealers are poor I guess.

Here in S.C. several BMW motorcycles & 1 BMW car was donated to the Highway Patrol when the BMW plant was first built , I never see the BMW Patrol Car but I see the BMW motorcycles sometimes , as well as some Harley Patrol motorcycles . Some car dealership recently donated some really high end mountain bikes to the local police last fall. I read in the paper today that the Atlanta GA. police dept is testing those Human Transporter things , imagin being pulled over py that ... blue lights flashing and the cop going WWWWOOOOO WWWOOO WWWOOO WWWOOO

Very sweet car, but you couldn't pay me enough to drive it for 8+ hrs a day, especially with a full gun belt on. The seats are NOT make for it and the thing is just too low to get in and out traffic stop after traffic stop. I'll stick with my '01 PI.
