I'm in!!! HAHAHA!!!

Well guys, here's the official final count: 5 out of 7 colleges applied for, accepted:

Centre College
Virginia Tech
Georgia Tech
Mercer University
Stanford University

1 Rejection:

Washington & Lee

1 Wait List:

Furman

It now comes down to my final choice in the first column; I'm kinda leaning toward Centre College... but I don't know yet. Any input? Any Alumni?

Thanks

-Flea

What's your major? Not knowing anything specific, I'd have to vote for Stanford too.

It certainly depends on your projected major. If you are in Virginia, the tuition at VT is lower than out of state and it has a great reputation for technical and vetinary. Also, one of the most beautiful campuses around.

I here Virginia is a huge party school. And there's lots of lifted Ford trucks in Virginia too.

You will never go wrong with a degree from Stanford. Its prestige will help.

That would be my suggestion. The big schools are money making machines. You are a number and they know half the freshmen don't come back. Centre has a student body of about 1,000 on a 150 acre campus. Teacher-Student ratio is 10-1 and avg class size is 17. No class bigger than 40 (and that includes Freshmen Science) A VaTech class such as that would be 200-250.
(You truely would be a flea)
The difference could be compared to washing your truck by hand or running it thru a carwash.

You may not like this part but, the good schools require freshmen to live in the dorms, they also do not allow freshmen to have vehicles. They have your best interest in mind.

Looks like you can have your truck at Centre but, I won't hold that against them.

Congratulations and good luck.

congrats on getting accepted to all those school. my advice would be to visit every school you are considering. stuff like tuition and class size really do play a big role in decisions, but remember this will be your home for the next 4 years, make sure its in an area that you like. im in UM right now and i picked it because it has a good computer science department (my major), i got some really great financial assistance to attend here, i love south florida weather, theres always something going on in this city, the girls are beautiful , and overall i just loved the atmosphere here. i visited at least 4 other schools, but this was my first pick after having gone to all of them. good luck and let us know where u decide to go.

I say go for the big schools! Sure, class size will be bigger, but all of the tests will be multiple choice! I can't believe you didn't apply to ETSU. Anyways, congratulations, and btw, UVA is the party school, not Tech, and there really aren't that many lifted trucks here. No more than usual, I don't guess, and I am sure they will have killer parties at Tech, any school in VA is a party school, but UVA is THE party school.

Well guys.... I've decided it's down to VA tech and Centre. Stanford is too far away, and most of the others won't offer me any financial aid, so it's down to those two. However, those were the top two I was hoping for, so it worked out for the better! I think I want to major in Physics, but I'm not sure as of yet. As far as final plans go, I want to be in patend law, but that's at least 8 years off... a lot could change between now and then. I guess we'll see once I visit the VA tech campus this weekend.

Thanks for the input!

Why didn't you try for MIT?

I will always regret not going to one of the ivy league colleges I got accepted to.
