Who's high mileage king?
I've got a about 135,700 on a 97 4.6L with only a front hub change (4x4), I a think I am about ready to have to drop a new rearend to it though, It cibrates pretty good on the interstate,
I work for Ford, and from time to time they will publish articles about customers with high mileage vehicles. The two I've seen are a early 90s F-250. In Montana, used on a farm, hauls 5th wheel horse trailers. 460,000 miles, only replaced the starter, alternator and windshield. Recently they ran an article on a guy with an early model explorer. More than 500,000 Miles and still kickin. When it does finally give out the guy plans to just put a new motor in and keep goin.
And people say domestics (especially fords) don't last as long as imports. Show me an import with that many miles and has also been used and abused as much as any of the vehicles mentioned in this thread.
BUILT FORD TOUGH!!

Lets see here, miles: I got 94,000 on my 97 F150--doesnt seem like much but I bought it with 32000 on it in 99 so I am running 20,000+ a year and I have had no real prob. Just traded in a 96 PSD with 104000 and we have a 92 F250 460 with 145000 but it is a ranch truck and is burning oil like nobodies business, My high school car was a Quest with 120,000 before trade in no problems there either. hmm, my 64 gal has 50,000 of course that isnt much I guess--just over 1,000 miles a year way off of my 20,000+ a year.
