Welcome to f150online Frank. This is a nice site isn't it? There is a photo gallery for your rides as well and its free. Take a look at all of the boards. You wouldn't believe the amount of information on here. There are a ton more "regulars" and knowledgable people on this board compared to our conquest boards but then again there are a ton more f-150s than conquests.

Thanks, this place is awesome. There's a thousand knowledgable F-150 guys for every one of our Conquest/Starion guys. I definitely would like to get the 3" body lift like the one you have. I think the stance is great and you still get to keep the stock rims on the Procomp MT 35/12.5/17 tires. Sw-e-e-e-t. The drawback is the skinner tire, but I don't think that's much of a compromise. Is that the widest tire that'll fit on the stock rim?
Peace,

It's hard to find guys that love that car as much as I do, especially in New Jersey. I finaly found someone in NJ whose rebuilding/restoring his from the frame up and we became best friends yesterday chatting about the C/S for about 5-6 hours. We met online and finally met yesterday. We are going to meet and work on our cars one in a while together. I got my in June 1994 my first year of college.
I got my F-150 last May. I plan on buying it out when my red carpet lease is up next May so I can do some mods to it. I'd like to get a black lightbar (with ???lights???) and a body lift like kev's (he has some post under wheels and suspension) and some meatier tires. There's not much off-roading in the NJ area unless you go into PA. So for the few times I go I don't think the body lift and stock rims (with thin tires) will do any harm since I won't be doin' any "real hardcore" off-roading and I'll get a lot of the appearance. The only other think I'll have to do is get a simple tubular step bar for wifey. The 4X4 truck is hard enough to get in stock, thank goodness for those handles (that's the best thing Ford put on the interior of those trucks, whenever I drive my wifes jeep I miss that thing.
Buy the way I couldn't help noticing you're from Alaska. I was there last year in June on a cruise for my honeymoon. We loved Alaska and would love to go back one day, not too far from now. I know the locals probably hate those big (humongous) cruise ships coming into port. Next time we'll probably pick some destinations and check 'em out by ourselves.
It's great meeting you and if you're ever lookin' for C/S info check out www.tristarion.com or www.starquestclub.com for C/S forums. The guys are as nice as the guys here and very knowledgeable. Ckeck out http://63.251.78.219/default.htm they have pics of reader rides, they'll post yer pics right away after your e-mail 'em. I just got recommended this site www.midwestturbo.com/ for purchasing my tune up kit.
I think were lucky to both own a C/S and a F-150. The two best (diverse, however) best rides and town (height and speed). What kind of truck are you driving???

Hey Frank, sorry I didn't visit earlier. I'm not on this site too much since i did my lift. Been focusing on the car lately.
I know some real good off road places up in the Poconos. Don't know if you ever go that way. Like I said, I'm from Allentown, PA but currently live near Pittsburgh. I need to find some more out near Pittsburgh!
Check out Jupiterak's truck!! It is nice! He is the one who inspired me to put on the 3" lift and Procomp mudterrains. He has the 33" tires compared to my 35" tires. The 35" mudterrains just came out a few weeks before I purchased them. Yes he told me he used to have a conquest as well. What happened that made you trade her in, Jupiterak? Was it you blew a head gasket racing a car?

Oh forgot to answer your question. I wouldn't go wider than a 12.5" tire on a 7.5" rim. In fact several people on this board probably won't agree with my decision on putting a 12.5" tire on a 7.5" rim. Even procomp recommends at least an 8" wide tire. However 4wheelparts.com did a test on the stock f-150 wheel with the 33/12.5/17 tire and the outcome was that it will work fine. I just stretched the boundary a bit and went with the 35/12.5/17. Theoretically they are the same width just higher. Now actually they are a little wider when you put a load on them.

Black2000XLT- Thanks. I got my (87 Conquest) in summer of 1991. It was used with only 16K miles. Fully loaded w/ leather except for the digital dash. I STILL haven't seen one with the digital dash. Very rare I guess. I got it for $6600.00. Great car and loved the looks, since it looked almost like a Porsche. I sold it in '94, I bought a Cheby K1500 for two reasons: after getting two 4 point tickets for speeding, it was $280 a month for insurance!
And rear-wheel drive didn't get me too far in the wintertime. If I did see the opportunity to buy one again, I'd do it in a heartbeat. I try to find an old pic and post it.
Kev- Yep, blown headgasket cost me some big bucks. I don't remember the exact amount. It was around $850.00. I did alittle too much hot rodding on the strip picking fights with camaros and mustangs.
Too bad there were no ricers back then.
