need advice (little long)
Just curious...What kind of "proof" could you offer them?
2. Since we were not confronted the day it happened it leads me to believe they have no clue who did it, so me and my friend were the chosen ones to have the blame pinned on for the employees lack of observation.
3. I would put money down on whatever it was that was taken out of the box (z max?), the empty box was placed back on the shelf behind other product and one of the employees found it when straightening up, which means it could have been stolen at any time, before we came in the store, while we where in the store, or after we left the store.
This may not be "proof" but it's solid evidence that they handled the situation incorrectly. If they brought it in the open and falsy accused us the day it happened, it would have been understandable, but now it's on a different level.
In retail if you suspect someone of stealing, but can't prove it, the best you can do is watch them and be alert. Not throw direct accusations out in a parking lot woth other people around. Whether your innocent or not it makes the suspect PO'd.
by the way Litning lover - read one of my posts above, there is a link to a thread about a meet in north NJ this sunday. Check it out

This is America, you are innocent until PROVEN guilty, I would not stand for that. If I worked across the street, they day that anyone falsely accusing me came in MY store, they'd be treated with the same amount of 'respect' that I was. I would tell everyone coming and going about it, and I would definitely slander them. Screw that, it ain't right.
