I just got home and got on my computer. And I looked at my mail a few minutes ago, and I have a recall notice on my 01' F-150. I can't call them because it's too late tonight...darn it! What could this recall be for? Has anyone received a recall notice on this message board? I have a 01' f-150 xl 4.2l v6/5-speed 2wd reg. cab pick-up. What could it be for? I hope it's for the 2nd-3rd rake I have in the tranny. Boy, that would be nice to get that fixed!

 

probably for the seatbelts, and when you go in there they'll say "oh just had to check 'em, nope doesn't apply to you" . probably nothing to worry about. as far as the tranny, just sold my '97 with the "rake" 2-3 and my g/f's 01 still has it. they're in no hurry to fix it.

mine is going in the shop in the morning for the 2-3 problem. have you had the gf truck fixed or are they just "trying" to fix it and just keeping it.

 

her's isn't in the shop. asked the mech about it with my '97 they said it was normal. with her's we just took it for granted. it is very slight on hers, and doesn't seem to harm anything. no actual grinding just ratchety going into the gear, barely felt.
