Fuel Efficiency Regulations Will Kill Trucks Under 10,000#

Everyone should contact there Senators immediately. There are several bills before the Senate right now, one coming up for a vote soon, to change the CAFE guidelines, which the government uses to set fuel efficiency standards. These bills propose increase the current standards by 40% and having them apply to all "light trucks" which they define as a truck under 10,000# GVWR. Since the auto industry would not be able to produce a truck, gas or diesel, that would get 35 mpg, the auto companies, including Ford, have already stated they would have to eliminate those products from their lineup. This would include all SUVs, half-ton and three-quarter ton trucks. You wouldn't be able to buy one. This takes away our choice, our ability to tow what we want, and ultimately we will lose jobs in this country.

Write your Senators now and ask them to vote NO to any measure that would increase the CAFE standards. One good website, called townhall.com has links to Senators by zip code. Also, you can find your Senators through senate.gov.

Thanks for listening.

I dought they would cut so many models... too much money being made and too many people being employed because of those models. Hundred of millions would be lost.
