Angry Got hit today...

Yep... someone got 'ole Jasmine. Was driving 40 in a 40 zone on a 7-lane where it merges into a 5-lane. Some @ss in a chevy s-10 cut me off and slammed on his brakes. Nearly hit him; had to brake hard and swerve into the other lane to avoid him. E-350 behind me couldn't stop. Slammed into the back of me at about 45. Hit me on drivers side of the rear bumper. This one was bad. I might have to get a new bed; the van was totaled, had to be towed. It looked like it cracked the engine block, as antifreeze and oil were all over the road. Deployed his airbags. No injuries, and I thank God for that. Suprisingly enough, Jasmine only had body damage. I crawled underneath to discover that the reciever and frame were missed by inches, while the rear shackle for the left-side leaves by about 3 inches. I was able to limp her home.

This one might take a little more than a new hitch reciever to fix, unlike last time. At least I get my tailgate repainted and a new set of exhaust tips.

Must go... have some thanking to do

I bet the s-10 driver didn't even bother to stop ... probably didn't even notice ... and if you would have rear ended him when he slammed on the brakes you would have gotten a ticket for following to closely... just can't win !

I'm really sorry!

I saw the pics - go see a doctor ok? I see that you hit your head & knee & have some injuries - thank God they appear minor but you need to be sure & get checked out. After all, you have already had the truck checked it seems - now it's your turn!
I'm so sorry to hear about this but I am very happy to hear there were no serious injuries. This will work out but you could never be replaced so it's not so bad after all - we get to keep you as our friend & wait to see Jamsmine all fixed up!

Thanks for your concern, guys. No, the S-10 didn't stop, and no, I didn't get a plate number. Cowlady: I got checked out by my dad (doctor) and he says I just have a little bit of whiplash and a few bumps on the head. I'll be back to normal tomorrow probably. Jasmine's gonna take 2 weeks, though...
