Any way of turning it back on Steve? It's making things harder to find. I think you'll start to see a lot of duplication if not.....

Exclamation ARGH!

Let me put it this way before the webmaster really stops bothering trying to maintain the site.

turning the search function on is like driving your truck when the oil hasn't been changed for 20,000 miles. It may run but soon it'll just blow up again and need some repair...

Click on the search button and follow the link that is there...it will give you an idea of what has been going on with search...and why it is not currently active. At this point, the alternative to duplicate posts is not posts at all...

I could care less.

I only ever used it 2 or 3 times, and never found what i was looking for anyways.

Corpsie, no flames intended, but it is "General Discussion", and in order for it to be a "Discussion", you have to hear a lot of voices, and this was clearly just DanB 360's opinion on this thread. I would have posted the same thing, if it was how I felt. I miss the search feature myself, but I think DanB has the same right to voice his opinion as the people who do want the search back. It isn't coming back for a while, though, and I am sure that Steve is trying his best, and when it does come back, he will probably make sure to post a thread telling us that it is back. It would be better for us not to even post about it at all until we hear something from Steve on it, because we are just making it longer until it gets back by cluttering up the board with posts just like this one that I am writing.
No flames!

Steve, I am impressed with all the work it takes to keep your site running...I never knew...

My work (offshore engineering contractor) keeps me close to a few, very well known database apps, through which I have become the company DB geek, but your problems are way bigger than mine! My hat is off to you (deep bow onto one knee)...

Record locking was a major hangup of an application I use, and I became the hero when I solved a major performance problem by getting the company to put the data and the server engine on the same server...(operations changed from several minutes to 5 seconds...). But that was a simple fix compared to your issues.

I would be in over my head to try to help!
