new truck tonight

just got done talking to the bank and it's official, i pick up my new truck tonight.
this time i got an '02 xlt sc 5.4 4x4 styleside. it's black again though. maybe my neighbors won't notice.
the v6 has been pretty good to me but lately the trailers i've been towing seem to be getting heavier to the point that the v6 just didn't want to do it.
besides good time to buy with xplan, cash back, plus chi. tough truck disc. price was pretty decent. also they didn't hammer me too bad on the trade so i had to do it.
can't wait to get home tonight.

Congratulations on the new truck Wildchild. What do you plan to add on it? I mean performancewise. An exhaust? Chip? Filtercharger? Duals on a 5.4 sound killer!

Congrats on the new truck. Post some pics when you get it. I love the new car smell. Or is it the new truck smell.

Congratulations!

I am SO happy for you wildchild! Best of luck with your new "baby"!
IF you stop driving around long enough to log on, come to chat so we can all "oooh & ahhh" over the truck! Is it a him or her? I need to know so I can refer to it as something other that IT! LOL!
May you have many, many happy carefree motoring miles in it, him or her! Post pics ok?

ccla: : cost was 23,8xx and some change. thought that was pretty good, same truck last year they wanted 27,000 for.

f150europe : yep, i was hoping to use my old plates which i just renewed last week, but this one needs heavier rated plates so i have to go to dmv this week and get new. dealer let me put the old plates on for now but made me sign a statement saying i knew they were under rated so i better go swap 'em.

wolverine : so far the plans include new stereo, tires, and exhaust. may be awhile though, have to let the savings recover a little

cl it's got to be a her. no name yet. thanks for the luck. had a ball just cruisin' it around a little last night. although when i picked it up it was snowing so the roads were well salted. so much for the pretty black color. it's now white and black two tone.

would love to post pics but i don't have a digital camera and am not sure how to do it otherwise. also rides would be great but it's a long ways to canada. although if you have snow i might actually be able to try my sled yet this year.

overall opinion is definitely that this truck is much better then the old one. never thought i'd have something like this. thanks all for the comments.

Hurray!

I'm so glad you're enjoying your new truck! I know all about the snow/salt blotches - my truck looks like a cow truck most of the winter - black & white spots! LOL! I go to the car wash but just driving it home it's already filthy!
Okay - it's a she - cool! If you need help thinking of a name let us know! I'm sure you'll get lots of suggestions!
In NYS we have a choice on our plates - at least I did. I stayed w/passenger vs. commercial since they are cheaper & some local parks won't allow commercial vehicles in. Also the tolls here are cheaper for passenger vehicles. I don't know why we are given the choice - I would imagine the F250's & up have to use commercial plates though. Just make sure you get to the DMV & get the right plates so you don't get a ticket!
Again, best of luck w/your new baby - when you do get pics developed, ask them to put them on a floppy or CD & download them that way! It's a few $ more but worth it since you have them in both medium's! Then we can see your pride & joy too!
