Warning or Ticket??????
I was wondering, do most of you get warnings or tickets. Saturday, I got pulled over for going 73 in a 65 by the High-Way patroll, He only gave me a warning, So I consider myself lucky. I did stop imideatly and pulled way off the road, I think he appreciated that. Any way, was just curious.....

well, there has only been one time i could have gotten a ticket. it started raining and the guy let me go, no warning, ticket. thank goodness i have not gotten a ticket yet. knock on wood
I have never gotten a warning. Got my third and last speeding ticket about 10 years ago, I guess. The best "break" I've gotten was being written up for 10 mph over instead of the 75 mph in a 45 mph zone that I was actually driving.
I've had 2 tickets and 1 warning in my 6 years of driving. Got very lucky on one of the tickets though. I was in a 30 mph zone just about to turn into a 45. I was allready speeding but I had a bad day and was pi$$ed! Girlfriend left me, lost my job (budget cuts)...all that good stuff. Anyhow I had punched it down and was going about 67 while just barely in the 30. Didnt see the cop around the curve...he clocked me at 67 in the 30 but only wrote the ticket for 54 in a 45, tickets for 10 mph over or less are the cheapest you can get here in MN.
Had some connections with the cop through family and friends, I was really nice and respectful....told him I had a bad day but that there was still no excuse for what I did. He asked what happened, wrote up the ticket, patted me on the back and said not to do it again.
Oh...I had insurance but no current proof which alone can require a mandatory court appearance...plus reckless driving and all that. I was happy with the $70 ticket!

I think it depends on the vehicle, if your driving an old piece of junk you will get a ticket, if you are driving a rice burner with a 5" exhaust you will get a ticket, same thing if your spoiled rich and driving a ferrari. I have noticed though if your driving a nice restored muscle car, most cops will give you a break.

I think it is more on what mood the officer is in and whether or not he wants to give you a ticket or a warning. Just the way it seems to me, I don't know.

I always got tickets for stupid petty crap.
When I was caught being really stupid, I just got warnings. In CA I passed a trooper doing about 80-85, no ticket.
In AZ I got nailed with smoke pouring off the tires... had been drinking.... no ticket.
But then I get tickets for 5 over the limit.
I actually got nailed here in Va Beach by an undercover cop for having a radar detector. I was parked, the truck was off, and the detector wasn't plugged in. Even the judge thought it was ignorant and gave me the minimum fine. You have to go to court to get the detector back.
So a word to the wise. If you're in Va Beach and have a radar detector, and some beach bum looking guy walks up and says "Hey buddy, is that a radar detector?", don't do what I did. My reply was "Yes it is, and I'm not your buddy!" This resulted in him pulling out his radio and summoning no less than 4 cruisers to verify that I had a radar detector, and write me a ticket.

Signmaster,
I don't know if you noticed or not but you are at post number 666 which is the sign of the beast. Better go hide under the bed until the bad mojo passes. Or post again quickly and forget about the whole thing.

i stayed clean with warnings until i got caught at 110 in a 55. then got a ticket for 74 in a 55 which wasn't so bad, even got it lowered in court to 10 over. but since then it's been all tickets except one warning down in the hood. cop pulled me for 50 in a 25 checked my license just to see if i had one and then asked if i had a job. i said yes he said SLOW DOWN. i said yes sir.
cops are pretty cool about bikes in the spring also. they know you're antsy about that first ride.
my experience has been. old beater they feel somewhat sorry for you and give you a break. newer car they think you can afford it. fast sports car or bike and they just hate you to start with
and you're gettin' nailed. heaven help you if his wife or g/f has ever said nice bike/car about anything even remotely resembling what you're driving

1 warning, 3 tickets
I am driving for 20 years now.
All tickets I got were in the last 3 years, driving an American car.
60 kph in a 50 zone (F150 V8 54)
84 kph in a 50 zone (F150 V8 54)
not wearing my seatbelt (E350 econoline, loaner)
The warning I got was for not having my driverlicence with me.
I guess he felt sorry for me. He already wrote me a speeding ticket of +- $170 for driving 84 in a 50 zone.
That is 34 above the limit.
I believe 35 kph above the limit, you have to appear in court and they will write you a criminal record.
First ticket was by a camera, the second and third I was pulled over.
Hardly warnings for speeding here, 3 kph above the limit and you can have a ticket.(F...... camera's)
