Could Dodge rip off Ford anymore?

That's right. In your best Chandler voice... could they rip off Ford anymore?

Okay, forget about the old D-150's. Lets move forward to the "SLT" trim package. Not enough eh? How about the SLT Laramie, smacking of XLT Lariat.

And now.... they are offering an appearance package on the Dakota. Wider, low profile tires, body colour trim and so forth called... wait for it...

the SXT!!!!

STX owners stand up and defend yourselves!!!

DCX are supposed to be the most innovative car company out there but geez... think of your own names dammit.

Maybe the people buying the dodge dcx will feel as ripped off as the people who bought an STX. It's just some cheesy decals. Same with the "Sport" decals. It's an appearance group. You might think with the flashy STX decal they might give a slight suspention upgrage, or nicer looking exhaust. No, it's a 4x2 that is supposed to look like a 4x4. Big deal!
Dodge might do better trying to copy the front end of a Ford. Man, that dodge front end is bad!

Buy the way, I love my STX. Just not crazy about the decals.

All auto makers do this. It's just like TV/movie canned scripts and music lifts. They're either followers to save time/effort/money or talentless imbeciles that flunked Creative Advertising 101.

this goes beyond unoriginal.

Ford says "we'll call our luxury truck with carpet and power windows/locks the XLT"

a couple of years later, Dodge says "we'll call our luxury truck with carper and power windows/locks the SLT"

Ford says "we'll make an appearance package with wide, low profile tires the STX"

a couple of years later Dodge says "we'll make an appearance package with wide, low profile tires the SXT"

Hell, Ford sued Toyota over the T-150 name and Lexus sued Ford over LS 8 (even though that stands). Ford has shown us that they are willing to sue for less, so what gives.

Maybe Ford is going to buy out MB/DCX (lets start the rumour)
