None of the poeople on the commercials used it to get how they look, so i doubt its better than just going to the gym or getting some dumbells at home.

If it sounds like BS or too good to be true it probably is.

Check out the SEC filings. The officers of the company have been selling lots of their stock. The guy in the commercials, Randy Potter, is an officer of the company and cashed out stock worth over 2 million in the last year or so. At least that was the case a few months ago when I checked out the company.

When I see the officers of a company selling stocks in those amounts, I have to wonder just how much longer the company will be around.

Gee Dennis, he only wanted to buy the product, not the stock!

Anyway, I'll tell ya what I tell everybody looking at buying a big expensive excersize machine:
Buy a used one. Chances are, it will be like brand new. Once these over weight lazy people get the machine and read the instructions, they are too tired to actually use it.
I got all my machines from some one else at 1/4 of the original cost. Yes, that was plural. I have a incline treadmill, ski machine, "Complete Gym" (the one Chuck Norris *what a hottie* used to advertise) Gravity edge, olyptical machine, bicycle, step, and dumbells. I use them all, because I get bored with just one.
Try ebay or your local newspaper and I am sure you will find a machine to your liking at a decent price.

The hottie in the "Complete Gym" workout would be Christie Brinkley!!!

I have also picked up used equipment cheap. I got an stationary bike, glider, and some sort of other type machine you sit on and pull back for $10 each. I also have an old set of free weights I got cheap somewhere.

Go to garage sales for this type of equipment. Most of it has hardly been used, and they just want to get it out of their way.

The only exercise machine I have is a big recliner chair - even that takes all the energy I have to push it back into the "recline" position

Ron993, forget the Bowflex and get a stairclimbing machine. They are far superior to any of the other machines by virtue of the fact that you can usually hang more clothes on them.

This is my honest opinion. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME WITH ANY LOSE WEIGHT FAST PRODUCTS!!!!! That includes the bowflex or anything like that. Truthfully, if you are serious about losing weight or building muscle, the best thing you could do for yourself is go get a nice set of adjustable dumbells. You would be AMAZED at all the things you can do with low tech equipment. And get better results while you are at it. The Bowflex and all the other machines keep you a little safer, that is it!!! I have been using a dumbell and barbell set for over a year now and I have increased my muscle mass tremendously and decreased my waist size by 4 inches!!! I used to weigh almost 300 lbs and now I am a much leaner 250 lbs. I still have a little to go, but I feel so much better and my self confidence is through the roof. If you would like to email me, I can give you a few pointers. Blueox101@hotmail.com

yep, thats it.

I use free weights. I've tried machines before, but i've gotten better results with dumbells, etc. It's easier to hurt yourself with free weights, but i like them more. You can make up your own exercises too, that you can't do with a machine.

The best and cheapest way to lose weight is to get a low impact aerobics video. Dumbells and freeweights are great for building mass and strength training, but these are short burst anaerobic actvities.

The only problem with the videos is you have to get past feeling like a dork; but, you do get to watch some hot chicks!

Oh yeah, the other part of loosing weight - cut the carbohydrates out of your diet (this is the part that sucks!)

You can pay $40 a month for the next 36 months for a bowflex, or for $20-$30 a month you can join a health club and have access to hundreds of pieces of equipment.
