24 hours & counting - tomorrow is Valentine's Day!

I know I posted this awhile back to give you guys a "gentle" reminder but it's down to the wire now! Make sure you get your sweethearts something nice for Valentine's Day! They'll appreciate it!
Oh - I'm not talking about your trucks either! LOL! You do something nice for them everyday!

I did it...

CL-
I did it, I got the Valentines Day gift yesterday. I got her what she says she never gets....Flowers, and better yet, along with the flowers is a box of chocolates. Hopefully she likes it, if not that was the most expensive $60 I have spent..... Hopefully she doesn't get too embarassed at work, because that is where they are being delivered to.

I think I am ready for it! I will just have to grit my teeth and wait it out to see if I did good or not. I did the custom picture thing, burnt her a 'special' Valentine's Day CD, got her a shirt, some flowers and a ring (no, not that ring, but soon, I hope). We'll see!

Yeah me too, I got her a bottle of Chloe (her favorite) and some flowers. Also in the plan is a semi-romantic dinner, we'll have the kids with us, but still a nice evening regardless.

*Giggles like schoolboy* I think I'm gunna score!

Thanx for the reminder though CL. A man's failure to remember such things does'nt necessarily mean he's not still in love. But I don't even think that O.J.'s lawyers could argue that point successfully to an angry woman!

You know I really really tried. I went to the store and stood staring at cards for 5 minutes, then I couldn't take it anymore grabbed the first funny one and ran out of that section. And she wants flowers too This is punishment!

I took car of V-day yesterday. Had to stop by Wally World, and while I was there I picked up a card, half dozen roses, and (*gasp*) a piece of exercise equipment for her.

That could be hazardous to your health.

LOL!

Glad to see you guys remembered w/o any help from me! Yes - Johnnie Cochoran couldn't win this case on his best day! Women don't tolerate excuses like "I had no idea" or "Gee - I just forgot" since the advertising is plastered all over the place!
Dan - don't worry. You'll find someone to spend your $ on soon enough! I don't have anyone either so I look at it this way - we can save some $ for our trucks! Fearless is MY valentine - shhhh - don't tell my cat Patches that or he won't bring me his usual mouse gift!
GASGUZZLER - yes you're spending your $ on something other than mods but hey - aren't we worth it? You'd better be careful how you answer this 'cause there's more than 1 woman on this site! LOL!

Actually, she wanted it, and she learned 3 things a long time ago:

1 - Don't expect anything. When you start expecting it, you won't get it.

2 - Appreciate anything I get for you. If not, it may be the last.

3 - Ask me, don't tell me. If you ask me, I'll probably do it; it you tell me, I won't do it.

This may have caused a a fight or 2 early in our relationship. But, she also learned I'm harder headed than she is, and she has come to realize why I feel this way - it keeps both people from taking advantage of the other.

36fan - sounds like what I'm trying to do. So far she has really progressed in #2, but #1 and #3 are going to take longer.

I managed to find mine young and train her
We started dating when I was senior in high school and she was a sophmore - and that was 10 years ago

Don't give up, it takes time and many fights.

36fan-

I must be a lucky guy, because I have already gotten most of the 3 steps out of the way, but everyonce in a while she still has to flex her muscle and let me know who really wears the pants in the marriage..... That is ok, because I still have my truck that I can talk to, and it doesn't talk back unless something is really wrong or it needs gas......
