Once again.....

Top 10 Best Sellers of 2001:

1) Ford F-Series 876,716

3) Ford Explorer 445,157
4) Toyota Camry 422,961
5) Honda Accord 404,515
6) Ford Taurus 382,035
7) Dodge Ram pickup 380,874
8) Ford Ranger 330,125

I can't believe that the Explorer made the number 3 best selling vehicle. I figured that after all of the Firestone stuff that consumers would shy away from them. I like them, but after working with the public, I thought that it would make them not so attractive to the customer. No flames intended, I love the Explorer, just my $.02.

I guess the everyday consumers actually figured out that the trouble was with the Firestone tires and not with the Explorer.

BTW, I'm thinking the sales figures between Ford and Chevy would be a lot closer if they included the GMC sales in with the Chevy.

Thumbs up

What helped the Explorer was a complete re-design, along with alot better safety reviews. Great to see only 3 ricers occupied the top 10. Hopefully Toyota and Honda will keep putting out vehicles as boring in the near future.
