Talking RC Cars

Hey kids!!!

Any of you decent folks out there into RC cars?
I don't like to race them, but rather play in the backyard
or driveway or occasional new housing development.

What do you people have out there?

I personally have:

Traxxas E-Maxx
Traxxas Rustler electric
Team Losi XXX

Let me know

I would like to get into it, what are the costs. I need to be grounded since I can't seem to keep an rc plane in the air.

I have an HPI NRS42. It's tons of fun. I don't race i just bash around in my driveway or an empty parking lot.

I got it for christmas, but i know they retail for about $250 for a car, and a controller is at least another $100. I have a JR Racing controller and it was $180 i think. Expensive, but well worth it.

you can see my R/C stuff on my website, just click on the link in my sig and go under the R/C link.

I have a few--

Traxxas T-maxx with a Picco 15
Traxxas Nitro 4-Tec

I am about to sell the 4-tec so I can get the 4-Tec Pro.
I plan on getting a Micro RS4 or a MiniZ soon to play with in the house.

Lately I have been into painting the Lexan Bodies. I have about 9 car bodies and 4 Truck bodies right now. If any one is interested, I am trying to get rid of a few. Only so I can justify painting some more!!!

I have HPI's Nitro MT. It's 4WD powered by a nitromethane burning engine turning at 33000 RPM's, awesome trucks! Check out www.hpiracing.com. This hobbie is not for cheap people, it can get quite expensive.

My first r/c car was a Tamiya Hornet. That thing was fast as a scalded dog! Well, it was fast after I put a 36,000 rpm motor, and a Novak electronic speed controller in it. I could'nt keep gears in that thing! After that, I got an RC10 off-road buggy. It was even faster than the Hornet! The RC10 has won many world championship races, and are still winning races. Lately I've been bashing around the backyard and parking lots with my Duratrax MT Pro. It has a .16 Nitro engine(very fast), and a 2-speed tranny and full ball-bearings. It was a monster truck, but I bought some smaller tires and rims and put on it. Man is this thing fast! I had a cop I know clock it with his radar, and he said it went 40 mph. But if you think that is fast, there are others that go 60,70 even 75mph! And yes it is very expensive!

Yep,

10's about right! White one is the Clodzilla III frame, with alot of manufactured parts I made. I put alot of money into the Zilla. Marron one is a regular Clod. Silver one is the T-Maxx of coarse. Purple is a RC-10 T2, an the white, purple one is a RC-10GT.

Is your T2 fast? I've got a T3 with the stock FireHawk motor. It is fast for an electric. But you just can't beat nitro! I would like to get a big monster truck like yours. The only monster trucks that I've had were the Tamiya Blackfoot and the Super Blackfoot. These things just amaze me!

I've had my Traxxas T-Maxx for over a year now. This thing is a whole lot of fun, especially at the BMX track, if you can get it running right. The think the TRX engines are really finicky. Like you guys said, these things can good really expensive. Glow plugs alone cost $8.99/each(cdn) up here. After testing and tuning, I had burned up like 5 plugs in 1 afternoon!! Then I bought to brand new ones and burned the first one within 2 minutes of installing it! To this day I'm still trying to get it to run more consistent. Great trucks you have there F-150 Ram Air.
