Nascar
there is a local singer here, and he was on the radio one day and said that he has figured out nascar. he siad its simple you go left,go left,go left,go left. its funnier when he sings it. i kinda enjoy it.
i never was much nascar until about 2 years ago when i got free tickets to the winston cup races in the homestead motor speedway here in south florida. ever since then ive been hooked, but i gotta tell ya...watching it on tv is NOTHING like actually being there! i loved how whenever the pack of cars came flying by you would hear the swooshes of each one flying by and their engines just roaring! it was great....
Donate,
you need to make it to some tracks that have some banking! Go up to Daytona and catch a race live there. A few guys took me to Daytona for the Pepsi 400 inaugural night race for my bachelor party, and Daytona kicked the Brickyard's a$$ for NASCAR racing!
I gotta make it to Bristol soon...

You gotta go to Talledega. Started going before restricter plates. 221 mph is smoking (Bill Elliot in the 80's). Go on Fri. and camp out for the weekend. Bring lots of film or digital storage for the chicks. The whole weekend is a show. Tattoo required shoes optional.

In my opinion, you gotta get to Bristol! I went to the spring race there last year. Awesome! I was hooked after seeing a race at Sears point in 92, then went to Phoenix in 92. Nothing comes close to bristol though. Can't wait to go back. Hopefully for the night race next time.

I don't know if anyone here follows Formula1 racing at all......but i've been to a few of those races in Europe before. Man, are those things loud. What you see on tv doesn't do them justice. They're soooo cool. I'd imagine the same thing applies to NASCAR and Indy cars as well.
DanB,
If you're into F-1, come to the American Grand Prix here at Indy in Sept. You can scalp tickets pretty cheap - except for the kick ***-upper level-under the cannopy-box seats - and it's only a short drive from Cincy! If you're into the technical aspects of racing and can appreciate what is happening, F-1 rules. Plus the Ferrari support races are pretty cool, too.
I am so priviledged to live in the MotorSports Capital of the World
- NASCAR, Indy Cars, F-1, IROC, and NHRA!

Oops - I called it the American Grand Prix - It's the US Grand Prix. It's the last weekend in Sept - the race is on the 29th (Sun), but I think practice starts on thurs (?). You can go to the Indianapolis Motor Speedway website and get more info.
I recommend seats in turn 1, or at the end of the straighaway before turn 1. This gives you a view of the start, the entrance into the roadway course, and most importantly - turn 1, which is at the end of the front stretch. This is were all the passing occurs, drivers trying to out brake each other before heading into the road coarse. If you can't find tickets in to this section, any section is good. They now have giant screens which the race is boadcast on.
If you go to any of the other races at IMS, try to get high in any of the corners.
