Front Wheel Drive
Just remember this tip!
NOT ALL SNOWBANKS ARE SNOWBANKS lol
I remember once busting snowbanks, believe me it's fun once you find ones as tall as your truck sometimes
Okay now with our true story lessons lol
Once in my blue Bronco (parts doner) I was busting snowbanks at my job after work! Ohhh that's a nice one I thought and drove to it! Well to my suprise it was a skid of bricks covered with snow
I bruised my head on the steering wheel and almost got stuck LOL backing up I had the window down (but not all the way) sticking my head out the window my truck ran over a bump so I hit my head on the top of the door and my chin on the glass.
lol
And of course this one time with my 97 4x4 I was on Mount-Shefford playing on roads that weren't opened yet and the last snow bank was rather, eh hard. I got my truck high centered on the hard snow bank! It took me some hours to get freed using a stolen shovel (that I had to walk 15 minuts to find). The owner got the shovel back.
lol
Well that's my snow banking stories that went sour

Ok Eph-
I suppose that you shared, I suppose that I can as well. When I was going to tech school, we had just had about a foot of fresh snow on top of a bunch already. Well before the snow, we had about a 1/4" of ice. Well I was going down the parking lot, which was on a hill, and had a turn at the bottom, to get to the flat part of the lot. Lets just say that I was going a little too fast, and buried my 89 Cherokee to the rear doors in a snowbank, and had to climb out the window. Thank god I had my shovel with me, as I had to dig, along with a friend that was with me at that time, to get it out....We got it out before anyone else arrived at the tech school. Then proceeded to go park away from that area.
The funny part is, then the instructors came in and made a comment about wondering what happened out infront.....I just had to laugh about that. To this day, it is a something only a select few know about....Now you know...along with anyone else on this site.
Keep in mind though, I was in 2x4 when I got stuck, and of course, when I was stuck, the one tire that had power to it, was kind of hanging there, so I couldn't put it in 4x4 and back out....Oh well. Guess sometimes you never learn.

Let's see... where did this FWD thing begin. We will ignore GM's attempts in the 60's as this was not a commercial success. The Japanese started making serious inroads in the early 80's with small FWD econoboxes. Lee Iacocca says FWD is the salvation for Chrysler and the American auto industry.
Fast forward to 2002. Most of Chrysler sales are RWD/4WD (as all of their sales are Dodge trucks and Jeep SUV's) The Germans (BMW, MB, Porsche) and English (Jag, Rover, Bentley, Aston Martin, RR)never really accepted FWD as a serious drivetrain... and the Japanese are using it in Lexus and Infinity models.
Hell GM even bought into it and made all Caddy's FWD. And now look... Chrysler is scrambling to bring back a full size RWD platform (if MB lets them) and GM realizes that Lincoln would not have the sales it does if they never abandoned RWD.
Now ask yourself... where does one see FWD aside from small cars? Imagine a Mercedes V12 with FWD? Or a Porsche or Maclaren F1 or an F150 in FWD?
Silly, silly notion. Almost as silly as an automatic tranny in a Bugatti, Lambo or Porsche.
