Weird weekend!
Weird weekend!
Okay, I have had a weird weekend, starting with Friday night. I was at a friend's house, she cooked dinner for my friend and I, so we went to her house. A different friend of hers came to her house, stole her car, took it to another county and robbed someone at gunpoint, then came back to our county, went home, then took it to another town and shot someone. The person didn't die, but he was shot in the head, nonetheless. Then, he calls and says that he is leaving her car somewhere (because we didn't know any of this had happened at the time) and then the cops show up, asking all kinds of questions, and we didn't even know the car was gone! They impounded her car for an indefinite amount of time (that's fine, they need all the evidence they can get), but then saturday, the same friend finds out that her sister has a disease and is dying. She is all tore up about that (understandably so), and then later that same evening, a truck passes by on her road and hits both of her dogs at the same time, killing them both. I loved those dogs, they were big babies, and no one even stopped or took the time to say they were sorry. That was just wrong. it has been an upsetting and weird weekend here in Big Stone Gap, things like this don't usually happen around here. Sorry for the long rant, I just had to vent a little. Thanks for listening, guys!
Wow! That is a weekend to remember!
Personally I always try to see the positive side of things. I had a chain of crappy luck and extra bills starting a few months ago. First my monitor fried, my rear tank developed a leak. My house almost caught on fire, one of the TVs bit the dust, and my little girl got sick.
Rather than get down about the extra couple of thousands of dollars this has cost me, I try to look at in another light. I'm glad I have a house to almost catch on fire, and a 4x4 truck with two tanks. Lots of people don't have a computer, so their monitor can't break. In my case I used the opportunity to get a bigger monitor. The new TV has all kinds of little extra gadgets and three sets of inputs so we can hook up the VCR, DVD and video camera all at the same time. My little one got antibiotics that are liquid and bubble gum flavored. She loves them, she's getting better quick, and I sleep better at night knowing she's OK.
Look at the other side - You and your friends are OK, modern medicine will give her sister every chance possible, the car was recovered, and none of you spent the night in jail becoming the cell block girlfriend for the night. As for the dogs, well that still sucks but hopefully some day the morons who hit them will get their *** bit by a big Doberman or something.....

Oh no!
I am so sorry to hear about all that you & your friends have been through! I know the feeling of thinking "what else could possibly go wrong", only to find out how much could & did.
I agree w/signmaster about looking for positives in a situation & the only one I can add is that you have wonderful friends to share these times with & none of you are really alone.
Ask your friend to let me know her's & her sister's first name & I'll add them both to the prayer intention book too.
I sure hope that everything works out for all of you & that better times statr happening real soon. God Bless & hang in there, ok?

Yikes!
Thats a lot to deal with.
Sorry to hear about her sister and her dogs, but she has you to help her through it right?
I wish her the best and as cowlady says, we'll pray for her.
ps
I hope she screens her 'other' friends, more carefully in the future.
