My lease will be up late this year, and I am starting to look into my options for my truck's replacement. Currently I have a supercab, and I really enjoy the extra space and flexibility it provides for storage, etc. With that being said, I am toying with the idea of getting a regular cab and a bed cover. Has anyone here went from a supercab to the regular cab? Do you regret that decision? How comfortable are the regular cabs on long, extended trips, knowing that the seats do not recline as much? (My wife reclines her seat to the max on occasion, in order to sleep on the long trips)
Thanks for your input! I'm going nuts deciding if I want another supercab, or a regular cab. I'd love to have a screw, but the finances won't allow that one!

Let me add the reason I am considering the regular cab is purely financial. I am in a lease now and am not happy with leasing, so I need to get a cheaper truck in order to afford the purchase payments!
I'm also planning on giving up the 5.4/Auto for a 4.6/5-speed. And now that you can't get a Lariat regular cab, I'll have to give up the leather and the cool signal mirrors.
Anyone out there with the 4.6/5-speed who can pipe in and let me know if you're happy with it?

You would have to pry the supercab out of my cold dead hands!!
I would never make the switch - if you buy used you might find only very little difference between the two.
I think the bench seat would be less comfortable. Sure goto a 4.6, even stick shift. I dont really think you would see a lot of savings IMHO anyway

I would have to agree with Roadrunner. I've owned two regular cabs before I got my '99' Ex. Cab. I love the extra room I have, even though I have to clean it out more often. lol.. I would also look around for a used extended cab. Never know what you can find.

I am in the same boat as of June 29th of this year, when my lease is up, and I have a lot of miles over on my lease, and looking at possibly buying mine, and then getting rid of it and looking to go to a Superduty with a powerstroke, if I can find one used for a reasonable price. Been looking at a lot of truck, but won't stray from Ford.
I have the supercab, and won't take anything smaller than that, then agian a kid also plays into the equation as well....I might be looking at a 1996 or a 1997 F350 Crewcab if I can find one of those as well.

I have a V6 Regular can 5 speed. I had a Nissan Fronteir King Cab. I know it's not the same thing, but . . .
I like the regular can more. All I did was throw stuff in the extended cab. As for my wife on long trips. . .she can suck it up.
These trucks are great. I drove them all. The Chevy, Dodge, Toyota, and Ford. There is just no comparison. My F150 was more expensive, but it is worth it.

Thanks for the feedback. It's always great to hear what others think....helps bring out my own thoughts.
I just don't think I'll be happy giving up the extra space, so I'll have to stay with my supercab. Becides, if I gave up the back seat, where's the dog going to ride?! And, we'll be starting a family soon so that extra room won't go to waste!

First thing I have my wife do is make sure the back bench (supercab) is comfortable for her. Then I ask her if she's sure she'll be comfortable with the dog in her lap, in case she (my wife) tries sitting in front. Dog rides up front (doesn't everybody's?).......you try and pry that seat away from her :-)

I went from a F150 Super cab to a Nissan Frontier King Cab...today I just went and bought another supercab...the Nissan was nice, but once you have that space and then you lose it, well, it's hard to get used to it.
I realized the Nissan was cheaper but I was settling for less...
If you are gonna have kids (we have 2) the supercab is a must IMHO
