No doubt to compete with the Lightning.

They are saying 500 hp and 500 lb/ft tq. All this out of a 8.3l v10. If it goes like it should, the Lightnings will no longer rule. I will have to see it to believe it. I would guess they will get more than fifty g's for this thing. Probably much more because of very limited production. I guess its part of chrystlers PVO (performance vehicle operations).

I don't care what they make. I still think Ford trucks are the best.

So what do I have to do to get more than 500 hp out of my 4.6?

swap it with a viper v10 . seriously though, the truck is way too ugly for me, i have yet to see a better looking production pickup than the lightnings. that dodge is definitely all go and no show in my eyes, but hey thats just my opinion.

I remember back in '97 or '98 Road & Track did a "preview" of a handful of what they termed supertrucks - tuner versions of the currently available models. They had a s/c'd Explorer, a Kenne Bell s/c'd F150 and a Dodge Ram with a Viper V-10. The only thing from that group that has ever come close to production was the s/c'd F150 that we fondly call a Lightning.

As for the V-10 in a Dodge, I'll believe it when I can put my grubby paws on its sheetmetal at the local dealer.

I like the Idea but there is one problem, it isn't my brand. They went about it in the correct way but I don't belive that it will be in reach of the normal person. It seems that they should have considered the old body style, I don't think too much of the new body style, I went to the local dodge dealer (for a service manuel, for a friend) while I was there I went through a new truck (waiting for PDI). There is no padding on the dash, it is all hard plastic, give it some time there will be many raddles etc. I think that they should have considered the dakota for such a venture.
