Finally...five months later!!

Hi all, bought a 97 F150 XLT 4x4 4.6L 5spd in May and had problems with the motor knocking due to bad bearings. I had to stop driving it in August...finally got it back today!! I almost forgot what it looked like! I chose to rebuild (bored .030, all new moving parts, new version hi compresion heads, resurfaced flywheel, etc) and I also had a new clutch installed whie the motor was out (95,000 miles on original). Man, the truck now goes awesome (even though I have to take it ez with her). They say it should be above 215HP now and I am having a blueprint done. The cause of the bad bearings is thought to be it was once run out of oil!!

Anyways...had to express my happiness to the fellow F150 owners (if you have had a truck and then gone with out for 5 months). This weekend my Kicker amp and XPL sub is going in, along with my new lo-profile tonneau cover. Hopefully I can figure out how to post some pics and now maybe I can build a signature for myself...any ideas, help, or hints??

Oh yeah...rebuild came with 4yr/40k mile warranty.

Later, Matt

Definately...actually discovered the problem in August, stopped driving it, and had the rebuilt done the begining of December...got it back a month later!! Sounds much better and more noticable power (215hp+) but I have a check engine light coming on now...gotta get that checked out.

Yeah I got that also. Its been on for the last 15K miles in the Expedition. I think its the O2 sensor so Iam not really worried. I restarted the light again and it went off but came back after I filled my car up with gas. Its a pain in the @$$ but hey what can you do. It costs like $40 to get the dealership to scan the computer but Iam not planning on paying that. Ill see what happens. I think its definately the o2 sensor.
