Thumbs up

I have an Ibaneze flat-top. Not sure about the model number but I never learned to play it. I'm a drummer at heart but I felt like if I was ever going to learn, I better get a guitar. It still has the original strings on it and it's ten years old.

I have a set of Yamaha Maple Customs that I like to beat the hell out of when I feel mean!

I play an Ovation Balladeer Acoustic/Electric...love it. I also have an older Ibanez electric that's pretty nice, with an 80 Watt Marshall Amp. I've been playin for 3 or 4 years now and I am pretty good...

Wannanicecar,

As noted, that is the factory finish. Its actually a cloth floral pattern, glued to the body, with clear coat over top. On close visual inspection, you can see the woven fabric underneath.

Whats kinda cool, is that between the body and headstock, each guitar is kinda unique. The placement of the floral cloth differs a bit. Look at some other ones to see the difference.

Check out www.jemsite.com

The greasman was a radio DJ here in DC. He started on DC101 in the 80's. Were his sidekick was Howard Stern. After the plane crash into the 14th st bridge, the 2 of them called the airlines to ask how much a ticket was to the the 14th street bridge. Thats when the problems started. He was finished the first time when making a racial comment about MLK.....

Then he re-emerged in the 90's. Same show and comedy...same stupid on the air comment about racial things (Not good). I remember that morning well. I was on my way to work when I heard it. I knew instantly that he was gone. Within 15 minutes, no more greaseman show.......

I was part of the in studio audience when he signed the acoustic. That was on weds, I wanted to chat with him after the show, but he had police duty in Falls Church that day. He hoped in the Biscane and disappeared quickly........

Search on the net and you will find a bunch of sites about him.

I play a Ibanez RG series 7 string w/ a EMG pickup and its signed by Zakk Wylde (for those who don't know - Ozzy's guitarist and founder of the Black Label Society band). I also have a Fender Prodigy (limited USA made), an old Lotus acoustic from the 60's, a Martin Backpacker and I just sold my Crate full stack a few weeks back b/c I never used it. I used to be in a few rock/metal bands - haven't had the chance to be in a band lately though. I sold the stack b/c my little 90 watt Fender amp sounded 10x better anyway - just not as loud

I play drums just as much as guitar now, so I bought a 4 trac recorder/mixer and started making my own stuff.

Unfortunately I don't play.....yet

But I do own a Fender Big Apple Strat and a Hot Rod Deluxe tube amp. Bought it last year with the idea of teaching myself and just haven't had the time to mess with it too much.

My main goal is to use it and my keyboard rig to lay down background tracks in Cakewalk Pro Audio.

Thumbs up

You started out with the right equipment, Screwed. Nice choices!!! I've been playing about 3 or 4 years lately, and I really only do it for my own enjoyment. Maybe someday I'll get serious about it I can play well enough, just not recordable quality, lol!
Here's a pic of the guitars around the house.........
The first in line is my 66 Harmony Rocket. It has the really nice sounding adjustable pole piece DeArmonds that came on it. I had the pickguard made when I noticed the original was beginning to crack. You can just make out three signatures on it. I had the incredible luck of having it autographed by the band "Reverend Horton Heat" I hardly play it anymore, worried about rubbing off the sigs
The second is my 93 Mexican Strat. It has the Fat 50's pickups, and has a nice tone to it. It's the one I play most of the time.
The third is a Limo black Danelectro U-2 reproduction. The sound of this thing is amazing!! I actually have two of these. The second was acquired as part of a trade for my flametop Washburn Les Paul copy. I can't believe I sold that guitar. It was BEAUTIFUL!!
Last one is the Martin DM I bought for my fiance. She had mentioned to me that she got a Martin as a wedding gift(her ex's family bought it for her) The jerks actually had the nerve to take it back???? Some people!! Anyway, she was quite surprised, to say the least. She plays far better than I ever will, lol!

I love blues music, and alternative music, with a dash of psychobilly thrown in. (psychobilly is double time rockabilly with distortion, hehe),,,,98

Thanks, 98SCREAMER.

I really do love the sound from that strat. I had no intentions of buying that guitar when I went into the shop. The mistake I made was allowing the sales guy to plug it up and put it in my hands .

I'll bet the sound out of that Rocket you have is killer. I *love* the sound from that style of guitar. But I don't blame you, if I had the luck to get it autographed I'd probably wouldn't play it either. That's one of those cool "hey, check this out" kinda things.

You've got a good collection going. Enjoy it!

I have been playing for quite a while now, and I have a whole bunch of guitars and other instruments. My number one guitar is an Epiphone G400, it's great and I wouldn't trade it for a brand new anything. I also have a 1952 Silvertone with a single lipstick pickup, a 1959 Silvertone semi-hollowbody with two soapbars, an Ibanez RG450DX with the double-locking Floyd Rose, a 1986 Kramer with a Floyd Rose, a black and white Fender Strat, a white and whit Fender Strat, a red and white Fender Strat, a Schecter Revernger 7 seven string, a Danelectro 56U2 reissue, an Epiphone Firebird 7 (the three humbucker model), a Gibson Les Paul Custom, a Fender 12 string accoustic, an Alvarez 6 string accoustic, an Ovation electric/accoustic, a Johnson electric/accoustic thinline, a Marshall VS100R 100W stack, an Ampeg SS140C combo, a 100W Crate Bass/Synthesizer amp, ProTools, Cakewalk, FruityLoops, Microsoft Guitar Studio, a Fender 4-string bass, a Peavey Fury 6 string bass, a digital piano, all kinds of recording and p.a. equipment, and I just bought a digiredo. It's neat, but it's so new that I'm not even sure how to spell it. I only use Shure mics and wireless systems. I can talk music all night, but I won't, sorry for the long post.

LOL, Pickup Man. You sound like me. I could talk music all night too!. Sounds like you also have a nice collection of guitars going.

Hey, what version of Cakewalk are you using? I'm still using the second version of Pro Audio (I think it's 5.0) and haven't upgraded in a few years. I really haven't found a good reason to plunk down the extra money for the upgrade. I've found their ability to sync midi with digital audio is second to none. With that software and my laptop I can be emulate a fairly nice multi-track studio rig. Nice!
