Do I hear the voice of a fellow home brewer . . . ?
I've been brewing for about 8 - 9 years now. Still do 5 gallon batches, always extract, but I do play around with the receipts. Haven't been brewing too much lately, have a house here in MA and one in PA - can never tell which one I'll be at when it comes time to bottle . . .
I also do wine and mead (mead being my all-time favorite).
So, anyroad, my favorite beer is an unfiltered honey wheat that I make myself (Swampview Brewing). For a store bought I lean toward Penn Weisen from Pittsburgh, PA!
Well, I'm not true home brewer. We have place out here that you go in, rent the kettle and do the brewing there. After 2 weeks you come back and bottle and it makes 15 gallons at a time. It's the easy way to have home brew. No cleaning up or anything. It's the best of both worlds.

ummmmm
I like Hire's or Dad's Root Beer - does that count? LOL! Wonder if I can make that at home?
I am not a drinker & beer is the last thing I'd order - just can't keep from making a face when I drink it. I also got REALLY drunk on 1/2 can of flat beer once! But I was home & it sure made washing my HUGE kitchen floor on my hands & knees more fun - I was giggling hysterically when my then fiance walked in! He thought I'd lost it - seriously!!! Oh - it was flat Labatt's - HIS favorite.

I like James Page brewery's Iron Range Red Lager, Very small brewing company located right here in Minneapolis. Other than that, I am open to trying anything at least once.

Cowlady, Have you tried a draft cider before? Like Woodchuck or Hornsby's?
My sister hates beer but she drinks ciders. Infact, today I went out and bought some Woodchuck because she is coming in tomorrow. I also got some Kriek Lambic. MMMM something to go along with that pecan pie I just bought.
You also might wanna try Hoegaarden. It's not as strong and kinda sweet. Still tastes like beer though :P
Try Hornsby's or Woodchuck and tell me what you think.

There is a place about 20 miles away like that - "Incredabrew". As I said, it's hard to brew living in two different states, but since you brought it to my attention I may give it a try. If I couldn't get to it at bottling time I bet someone on site would do it, for a charge of course!
Great idea they have and I think I may just give it a try. Thanks for the reminder!

Cowlady, You also might want to try a Lambic beer like Kriek Lambic. Trust me, They don't taste like beers but they are.
If you really like Kriek Lambic I know how to make ice cream with it.
