Christmas Tribute for lost loved ones
Christmas Tribute for lost loved ones
I first heard this poem read at my Dad's Memorial Mass right after he died. I thought it was so beautiful & comforting I looked for it on the net & found it. I heard it was written by a 13 yr old boy who was dying of cancer & knew he wouldn't be around for Christmas. There's a few other who also claimed to have written it - no matter who did it is absolutely beautiful.
This goes out to all of us who have lost a loved one & to the victims of 9/11.
First Christmas in Heaven
I see the countless Christmas Trees around the world below,
with tiny lights, like heaven's stars, reflecting on the snow
The sight is so spectacular, please wipe away that tear,
for I am spending Christmas with Jesus Christ this year.
I hear the many Christmas songs that people hold so dear,
But the sounds of music can't compare with the Christmas choir
up here.
I have no words to tell you, the joy their voices bring,
for it is beyond description, to hear the angels sing.
I know how much you miss me.
I see the pain inside your heart,
but I am not so far away.
We really aren't apart.
So be happy for me dear ones.
You know I hold you dear, and be glad I'm spending Christmas,
with Jesus Christ this year.
I send you each a special gift, from my heavenly home above.
I send you each a memory of, of my undying love.
After all "Love" is the gift, more precious than pure gold.
It was always most important in the stories Jesus told.
Please love and keep each other, as my Father said to do,
for I can't count the blessing or love he has for each of you.
So, have a Merry Christmas and wipe away that tear.
Remember, I'm spending Christmas, with Jesus Christ this year.
I hope this brings some small measure of comfort to you as it did to me. God Bless - Merry Christmas.

i am sitting in my office reading that poem and i had to get up to close the door....this is my first christmas without my dad.....his life was cut very short in May when he was killed/murdered...i am a believer, but it still hurts....my dad is everything to me.....thank you...god bless and merry christmas....
I consider myself an agnostic, but I still thought that was a very beautiful poem. You don't have to be a believer to appreciate the power of human emotion and expression. I know that all of my lost loved ones live on in my heart and in my memories. Christmas is a time of remembering and giving and sharing. I hope everyone has a wonderful Christmas this year. Please be careful in your travels. Please do not drink and drive, I would like to spend many more holidays with my loved ones.
Merry Christmas,
Ox
