Slow Connection!!!!

I have a cable connection and have no problems most of the time but, Here at f150online.com my connection seems to bog right down......clicking between posts sometimes takes quite a few seconds......not just pictures either anything...am I doing something wrong, like cashe problems or anything? Most other sites load pretty fast....the usual cable speed....i have a fast connection at work and sometimes notice the same thing......any advice?

Mine does the same thing here, especially right after I post or edit a post. I think its probably just the traffic to this particular site. Its pretty loaded down. But Im not 100 percent sure

I had speed problems yesterday. (ADSL-connection)

Always after editing a post, it takes some time to get back to the board.

Chat

I appreciate this site and don't want to sound ungrateful but logging into Chat takes forever for me. It takes longggggggg for the page to load and longgggg for my password to verify. Very frustrating.

Talking Just FYI

When you do a new post or edit one, the page needs to update to the database on the server. Probably a SQL 7.0 or SQL 2000 db. At any rate, it just takes time to sort through the 451,000 posts that are already in the database. Can't coment on the chat deal, but I'd say it's a similar situation. Needs to authenticate your ID and PW from the thousands that are in the system.

Yep, sometimes it's not that fast but like Mitch said about the dB updating........

Also, have you tweaked you're machine since you've started using broadband? Go to http://www.dslreports.com/tweaks or go to speed tests.

I can email the utility if you want. It just opens up your RWIN (receive window) to take full advantage. Windows OS comes set for dial up basicly.

Let me know if you want it. You can get it from there too.
