Calling Gopher...

Hey there Gopher,
Been a while....So I read in the "To warm up your truck or not" post that you like trains as a hobby....Well this past weekend were you able to get chance to see the Canadian Pacific train that was in St. Paul for the Holidays? (My dad works there) I know it was a new one, but still very impressive. It was decorated for the holidays. If you would like pics, just let me know. They might not be the best, but still look really cool.

Unfortunately I wasn't able to make it down there to see the holiday train. Looks pretty cool all decorated up for the holidays! Did many people show up to see it? I didn't hear about it until I too late, and I already had plans. I've got nothing against the newer units at all! Its one of the few times that a locomotive actually gets that nice shiny look in its life! There is still something about the older units that are appealing though. My grandfather was an engineer at the Minnesota Commercial (formerly the Minnesota Transfer). Their roundhouse is over off of Cleveland Avenue in St. Paul just on the other side of University from the Amtrack Station. As of now they have a pretty eclectic mix of locos. Good stuff. I hope the holiday train returns next year!

When the heck is it going to snow around here? I'm still waiting for winter to get here!

I would say that there was close to 125 to 150 people there Sunday night....It is suppose to come back, or they are going to try and get it to every year. There are a total of three of them, and then they are going to join and make the run to Moose Jaw, Saskatawa.....Would be really cool to be able to do the whole run. When they were stopped in St. Paul, they also delivered 2,200 pounds of food, and a check for $17,000 to the Second Harvest Foodshelf....So it is a good cause. If you would like to see some other pics, I can post those as well.....Just let me know.
Tell me about it, I want snow for Christmas and for my Wedding on January 12.....and wouldn't mind some snow for the week following as I will be going up to the north shore for a little R&R...and not, not Railroad.....
