Truck was broken into!!!!!!
Yup, this morning I got a call that my truck was broken into. They broke the passenger side door window. As soon as they opened the door, the alarm went off, and I'm assuming they took off. Problem is, I'm 1500 kms away on business, and don't get back into town until the 14th of December. So I won't know what is missing till I get there! All that time, it will be boiling inside of me, driving me nuts. Who knows what they took? Ughhh!!! I'm so pi**ed off!!!!!
My truck was in the garage when I left, why did it end up in the driveway???? I'm not a very happy camper.......

I'm so sorry!
I feel so bad for you! I can undersatnd how you feel! Who could have moved it out of the garage? Can't they put it back in for you?
I'd be happy to call a neighbor for you if you can't - I have free long distance so don't worry about it ok? If there's anyone's # you know & want me to call, email me & let me know - it's the least I can do for you. My email is Cowlady18@cs.com. It's really no problem & maybe it would give you a small measure of peace of mind. I can even look up the # for the local police - maybe they could tow it somewhere safer?
I hope nothing is missing & that the damage is minimal. Keep us posted when you get home & again, let me know how I can help.

Well, thanks you guys, for the help offers. I got my dad to move it into the garage, so it will be safe for now, till I get back. Turns out my sister had moved it to use my garage while I was gone. She had put my truck in the carport, but left the faceplate on, the club off, and the eq was in plain view, so it was no wonder they broke in. Oh well, nothing I can do about it now. My dad has already picked me up a window throught Direct Auto for $50.00 (pretty good deal I though since Ford wanted almost $400.00 plus tax!), so I just have to get it tinted, and I'll put it in when I get back. Anyways, thanks again for the condolences, hopefully everything will be ok when I get back. My dad says the deck is still there with the faceplate on, and 'one' of the amps is there, and the subs are still there. Not sure about the CD changer and other amp, or any speakers or anything. Chances are they are still there but who knows till I check it out myself, right? Noone else knows exactly what I had in there except for me.....i.e Cds, cell phone, etc.....
I geuss I have a job to do when I get home now! So......anyone have any experience putting a passenger side door window in??? I've had my doors apart before to put in the door speakers. But I'm not sure about how the window mechanism works. While I have the door apart, should I think about adding some of those foam speaker baskets in? Anyone have any experience with these?

Hey jleinweber,
Sorry to hear about the break in on your truck. I hate thieves and why they think they can take from hard working folks because they are too lazy to provide for themselves.
It's a small world, I have a friend/business associate that lives in Winnepeg Manitoba (I know, probably not spelled right) and used to work for a company called Owl Welding. Send me an email from this site if you know who I'm talking about or want to discuss anything else.
Also, I assume your last name is Leinweber and ironically I used to work for a family business head quartered in Austria, yea I said Austria named Leinweber Maschinen, GMBH. I worked for the company for a little more than a year and they still have an office here in Charleston, SC where I worked for them. Leinweber is a specialty machinery manufacturer primarily concentrated in the brake pad industry but with world wide exposure.
I think that if you did all the mods to your truck yourself then you must be fairly handy and you should have little difficulty putting in your new glass. Good luck with the repairs and let us know how it turned out. I know it's painful to do but you might want to share a photo or two of the damage so we can learn too.

From a Haynes manual:
1 Remove the door trim panel and the plastic watershield.
2 Lower the window glass all the way down into the door.
3 Carefully pry the inner and outer weatherstripping out of the door window opening.
4 Remove the rear glass channel bolt and glass channel (see first picture).
5 Raise the window just enough to access the window retaining nuts through the hole in the door frame (see second pic).
6 Detach the window retaining nuts and remove the glass by pulling it up and out.
7 Installation is the reverse of removal.

Thanks for all your help everybody. I got the window in today, and she's as good as new. There was nothing taken from the truck, so that is a good thing. It took me about 1 1/2 hours to put the window in, most of that time was spent cleaning out the broken glass!!!
