Real all the way. I even take the remnants and drop them off at the state park. They use them to help the sand dunes rebuild themselves. So I try to be more environmentally friendly by cutting down a tree to put in the house for a few weeks.

I was "flagged" a couple years ago by the wife. I kept getting bigger and bigger trees. Our great room has a vaulted ceiling, and the tree was so large one year I had to move it an extra couple of feet from the wall. I got away with an even bigger one the following year by convincing her that the other side of the room was better placement! She caught on an switched, now the tree goes on the "short" side of the room. I feel like a 6-7' tree needs a Linus blanket or something!

Thumbs up I got mine today

Yep, I went and cut it today(the permit was 5 bucks)......a beautifull grand fir (there was way too much snow to get up to where the Noble Firs grow) I also found something very intersting: The Forest Service has started planting Giant Sequoia(SP?-Redwood trees) in some of the places that are being logged. They are not native to Oregon.....only grow natively in the siera Nevada mountain range in Cali. They were doing quite well too, really healthy looking trees.I might have to see if I can dig up a little info about when they started doing this and why.It is actually pretty cool because the sequoias are such pretty tree and they get soooooo big (400+ ft tall, 40 ft diameter trunk)

i have fake. but real ones look better, smell better, feel better, until it's time to drag it outside again. seeing as i live on the second floor of an apt complex. i didn't think my neighbors would like pine needles down the hall. oh i know you can use the bag or just clean them up but, you never seem to get all of 'em. until you walk around in your socks that is.
lightning and seacrow: agree with you 100%. got my first sniff of red tide last year at my dad's place. very nice....NOT.
dennis: alright now you've peaked my interest i would love to see a picture of that tree with the color wheel.

I can't believe you don't know what it looks like. I won't be putting mine up this year, so if the lady a couple of blocks over does, I'll ask her if I can take a picture of it for you. She usually either puts up the aluminum tree or a huge animated Santa.

IMO, big real ones are the best. I don't have a problem with good fake one's either, but if theyare too big they really look unnatural. Either way, they are fun to decorate!

I like real ones, but I do get an urge to pee everytime I walk by it for some reason. Or somtimes I feel like climbing into it but it always falls over.

*STOP barking at the neighbor eph* I hate it when my mom yells at me for that!
