Cheap Gas

I'm leaving for a hunting trip to Idaho Friday morning. Which states have cheaper gas along I-80?

Iowa or Nebraska
Nebraska or Wyoming
Wyoming or Utah
Utah or Idaho

I hate crossing the border into the next state and realizing that their gas cost $.25 more per gallon.

In '93 we were pulling a trailer back from Vegas with an old Chevy 4X4 on it. We were trying to stretch the gas so we could make it to $.98 gas in Wyoming, but the Chevy was heavier and pushed more air than the Jag that we hauled out to Vegas. We ended up stopping in the little town of Echo, Utah, and had to pay $1.48 per gallon. There wasn't anyone at the station, but the note on the door said to go to the bar down the street if you needed to buy gas. When we told the bartender that we needed gas, he threw everyone out of the bar and locked the door so he could come down to the station and turn on the pump.

BTW, gas is $1.05 here in Waterloo, IA.

Seems like gas prices are going down and staying pretty even all over the country. Good to see. Couldn't help you much on which state to choose for gas. My guess would be that the gas prices are relatively the same in the midwest. Try no to fill up in the high doller counties. If I knew what those where I would tell you.

Anyone from Iowa, Nebraska, Utah, Wyoming, or Idaho tell OPIE the price of gas. I am sure he would be appreciative.
