When was the F150 first sold

I'm trying to figure out when the first F150 was sold. Not the F-1 series, but the F150.

I know that the 1998 models were 50 year anniversary, but I can't seem to find any reference on a 48 F150, only F1.

1948 was the first year of the F-SERIES. The F1 was followed by the F-100 which then became the F150. I beleive the changeowver from F100 to F150 was in the early to mid '60's.

I think there was still an F100 back in the early 1980s. It had a lighter weight-rating and smaller bolt-pattern for the wheels than the F150.

1984 was the year ford dropped the f100. The f150 had already been around awhile.

1975 was the first year of the F150's so the first one was sold around September of 74 when the 75 modles came out.

A friend of mine had an 82 F-100. It had about 230,000 miles on it, and still ran(straight six) He recently sold it and bought a V6 shortbed Shakerado. He's still my friend, but I find I don't talk to him that much anymore,,,,98

My first company truck was a 1975 F-150 with 360 V-8, P/S, and three on the tree. It sure was a reliable vehicle!

1975 F-150 sure looked odd with a Farmall Cub, Highboy in the bed (the tailgate would barely close). Top speed with tractor weighing in @ approx. 3,100# (with attachments on tractor) was 43 MPH. Truck didn't lack for power with this load--springs and tires would whip you easy if you went over 43MPH.

People would look at Me as if I were silly when I hauled that Farmall.

I'm pretty sure 1976 was the last year for a F100 4X4. After that all F100's were 2 wheel drive only. I had a 1976 Flareside 4X4 with a 360 and a 4 speed, great truck, body rusted out pretty bad though.
