Hope this Helps!

I had the same two problems with my truck!

As for the door I brought it ouve to Ford and they hooked it up to their computer and found it was the door switch. When you open and shut the door a black plastic arm half way down the door touches a switch inside the fender. T only problem is you have to buy the whole assembly. The Tech I was talking to at Ford when I had mine done said it was common for them to go. I had my driverside replaced. As for the dash I had to take apart my dash and replace little bulbs in behind the dash.

Hope this helps...

Every once in a while the contacts on the switch in the door will stick in - a shot of wd40, and work them might help.
For the bulbs - it sounds like a fuse - check out the owners manuel for the correct one.
Hope these ideas help.

The door ajar switch is under the door latch. If it's working and you don't want the lights on or the door chime gonging while listening to tunes, all you gotta do is trip the latch with a stick or screwdriver or key. The second click turns the lights and chime off.

JJ, to fix your problem, all you gotta do is flood that door latch with WD-40. The problem is most likely dirt in the switch. The WD-40 drips through the latch, down into the switch, which washes out the dirt. Cycle the latch a few times and it should fix your problem.

BTW, this fix has been in the Electrical forum for a long time.

If all your dash lights went out at the same time, I'd look at the fuse and if not that, I'd look at your dash dimmer switch. Could be the fuse, switch, or wiring.

Go to Radio Shack and buy a can of TV turner cleaner and lubricant. More expensive than wd-40 but works a lot better, but made for cleaning contacts. Spray the switch until you see it drip out the bottom off door. Sprayed mine about a year ago and no more problems.
