HI!... Well my PRO STREET RANGER (read lower SIG) has been my project vehicle for about 7 years but my F-150 is my current one. Got to go high 13's naturally asperated before supercharging!
this is ugly...
Here's what I've got sitting in the driveway. My wife desperately wants rid of it, yet I can't seem to do it. She's a pretty tough old girl and made of some kind of sheet metal that will break your hand if you rap your knuckles against her. It's got a TH 400 GM auto transmission which should bolt right up to a 350, then I can use the AMC 360 as a boat anchor. Full time 4WD with Quadratrac, it gets about 8mpg on a good day but I have no problem just bouncing it off trees. Maybe I'll fix it up and give it to my kid (he's 2) when he gets his driver's licence...
thats beautiful. dont listen to the wife on that one. the boy should get it when he is 16. tell her its a way to keep the ins. down and it wont hurt much if he his a pole or two
oh yeah, it is the project to beat all, it is a vw dune buggy, there is nothing that can consume money like a project. someday I would like to get into an older airplane to restore to my personal likes.
well, im actually currently looking for another car(something that gets good gas mileage and can take the beating of everyday abuse) so i can turn my truck into my project. ive got plenty of ideas for things to do to my truck. i want to do some major engine work, a little body work, and then get a custom paint job (maybe flames?). i got plenty of ideas, now all i need is money...

That would be my explorer and my f-150 both. I guess the explorer is more the "project" vehicle cause its not my daily driver

How about a Ranger or Bronco II? Put in a 5.0 (if you really need that much power), Dana 44 up front, 8.8 or 9 rear, jack it up and crawl over everything.
Check out the RRORC boards to see what some of them do with them.

I've got 2 projects, and my daily driver F-150
First project is ongoing, it's my 87 Bronco. I've spend 4 years slowly building it up, but it works great. Pics are at http://bigwoodfabrication.20m.com/Pi.../pictures.html
I'm going to start on the new front suspension as soon as I can get to it. I'm going to use the Autofab front beams, custom made radius arms with heim joints, and custom shock hoops and coil buckets. I thought about going to coilover, but I can't justify
My other project is my 70 VW Beetle. It's due for a complete restoration. I'm thinking of making it into a fast street car. It's too clean to make into a Baja just yet. Attached is a pic of the bug.

It started out as a daily driver then turned into a project vehicle. It really is a reliable truck but everything i have done has made it uncomfortable and expensive (8 miles per gallon of gas) to drive everyday. Ah well, i like the thumbs up as i drive down the street.

BTW. the pic below is before the body lift and bigger tires.
