I finally got the sheared off coil pack bolt drilled out. Now I need some help deciding what to do and how to do it. I will need to tap the new hole, but how? And what type of bolt and what size should I use? (This all started when I cross-threaded the retaining bolt for the coil pack on #8 and then sheared the head off ... D'OH!)

You might look into using a helicoil insert. Just get one that matches the original screw size and drill the hole to fit the helicoil.
