Dammmm Them

You would think with all the s**t going on in the world these animal rights activists would do something to help the "REAL" cause instead of wanting to stop the hunting season in NEW-YORK because of the terrorist acts, come on you people must and i mean must have something better to do with your free time, how about using the free time to volunteer and help the people and the animals will take care of themselves... GET REAL!!!. Sorry but this is just to much, our city of buffalo is on the verge of bankrupcy because of the money needed in NYC and these asses want to shut down hunting when our schools and fire departments are about to be closed.....

Thumbs up

J-150: You just defined the world's problems with 1 word: Priorities. If only they could see that.

I don't think it is 'funny' to run around with an animals head. You are only serving to justify the belief that hunters only hunt for the "trophy" or the "kill"
Hunters hunt for food. They enjoy it becuase it brings them back to nature by providing foor for the family the natural way.
With all the chemicals being introduced in to the commercial raising of animals for food, hunting makes perfect sense. One can get 'cleaner' meat that way. Ask any one, I buy very little meat, and although I haven't hunted, I would, if a had someone to go with. People do bring me some meat (and the skins upon request) once in awhile, so I know it is good stuff.
When I get out of this "used to be rural, but now it isn't" city, I intend on raising (without chemicals) most of my own food. Yes, if it is on my property, and I am within safe and legal limits, I will shoot it and eat it. (sluuurp! yum!)

Show me a kid that was raised hunting and fishing with his Dad or Grampa and I'll show you a kid with respect for society, his elders and most importantly life. Take your kid to the great outdoors and they likely will not be the gangbangers whacking each other.

i belive that it was funny when i did that, because the people protested everyday in front of the livestock show(yes im probley a hick for showing animals) and it slowed traffic, and it was in a poor fashion. they yelled at you when you drove in the gate(4-5 times a day) so in my mind and in others that were there it was funny to see there reaction. i know that i have never hunted for food it has been because i like to. not trying to start any pissing contest just speeking my mind

I couldn't have said it any better, J-150! I hunt because I enjoy the activity, I enjoy being in the woods and outdoors, and I like providing food for my family. My wife does not hunt or care for guns much. In any event, part of that came from not ever being exposed to it before. While she still doesn't hunt, she respects it now after seeing the respect we show while pursuing our activity. She respects the use of the animal for food - darn good food at that. She respects that the hides are used. She knows we don't do it just for the sake of hunting and killing something. It doesn't work that way, at least in our house.

I agree just showing up with an animals head is going to do nothing more than **** people like that off even more, and give the rest of us a bad name. It sure doesn't show a lot of respect for whatever animals head you decide to parade around... You've got the right to speak your mind, but you have no right to make me listen, just like you don't have to listen to me...

Cool

There was a REAL GOOD reply to the "do gooders" on (I think) the Realtree tv show (shown around here) yesterday.

Ask - How much do THEY spend on conservation & keeping the species and how much they contribute to the economy ?

Then total all the $$$$ that hunters spend - on liscence, guns, ammo, clothing, transportation etc. etc, etc, & CONSERVATION programs.
Who supplys TONS of $ to D/U and other such programs?

Then - as my old pappy used to say "Tell them to take a flying ******* at a rolling donut".
