Thumbs down I Am Soooo P*ssed Off

Today our canabuck sank to the lowest it has EVER been! I just checked out my bank website - For me to buy one US dollar will now cost in excess of 1.61 canadian !!!

You YANKS can come to Canada & buy almost $1.60 worth of products 1.00.

WHY are you staying away???

Anyone - within 100 miles of the over 5000 mi UNDEFENDED border should be up here getting rich.

Oh sure - it's a little cold - Unless you come from the "uppahUS", but, what the heck - with YOUR kind of money you can buy all the heat you want.

Besides, if your in Washington, Oregon, maybe even Montana or Idaho it's not a big trip.

"Riches beyond your wildest dreams"

This is better than the Alaska gold rush - AND - you don't have to climb mountains and ford streams to do it. - Paved roads all the way.

We are VERY friendly neighbors (US spelling) - (In Canada we spell it neighbours) - We don't sneek across your border to find work - (well SOME of us might).

We have fresh water, lots of trees, very little crime - except of course our Government, that lets our dollar slide this low.

There are only 30 million or so of us up here (about as many as in California - spred out in a country MUCH bigger than the USA - EVEN BIGGER THAN TEXAS.)

Oh sure, we measure gas in liters & lengths in kilometers, but nobody know what that stuff is anyway - thats how our Government sticks it to us.

Remember - you would be just ALIENS up here ( the same as we are in the USA ).

But think of the possabilities -

THE 10 BEST REASONS FOR YANKS TO COME TO CANADA

10 - Drive to a third world country
9- Almost double your money
8- Low crime rate
7 - NOBODY here - wide open spaces
6 - Fresh water - from the TAP!
5- NO armed forces ( we sent our 6 guys to you)
4- No Navy ( we sent 1/2half of it to you - 3 boats)
3- No Air force
2 - No - "Time Share promotions"

and the number ONE reason for ALL YOU LOVELY AMERICANS TO COME TO CANADA.

WE NEED YOU G.D. MONEY !!!

Made the trip from Cleveland, OH to Toronto. Beautiful city. Although I was only there for 3 days, I was suprised at how very little the differences seemed to be between US and Canandian living. Toronto was basically a New York or Los Angeles with cleaner air and more culture. But you gotta love that exchange rate! I could like like a king if I could figure out how to commute 5 hours back and forth between Toronto and Cleveland! Can't wait to get back.

Well, for one, with the increased border security, it takes longer to get accross, and if an attack occurrs one could be
'stuck' over there. Not a bad place to be stuck, mind you, but we do have things to do over here.

When I went to Niagra Falls, I went through Detriot and drove to Toronto. We went in the winter and with all the tourists gone, we got treated very well. Between the Can dollar and the discount Stores in NY, we got all our christmas shopping done very cheaply. Yeah, we just had to sneek in to NY and see what was on that side of Niagra too.

I just can't go anywhere right now. I have finished most of my outdoor work and am working on my new office right now. When I get done, I will certainly need a break so . . . .

Hi Roadrunner, did someone p*** in your pocket? (just kidding).
Although my 02 Supercrew was made in Kansas, my supplier bought it through a Canadian dealer, and paid for it in $C. That was the best deal available at the time. As for reasons for visiting Canada, I used to visit regularly. The last time, a colleague and I had to fight our way out of a bar in Summerside one Saturday night, (think they called it the Regent). That was in 90 I think. It was like being a Kid again..great fun, but a bit stiff the next day!

best of both worlds

I'm from Ontario originally, now in Ohio, only 160 miles from the border. I go up there to visit my parental units from time to time AND to take advantage of my dollar being bigger than theirs. I just make sure I fill the gas tank before I cross to Canada, I don't think even with the exchange rate makes it worth it to buy Canadian gas! Took the family to Niagra Falls a few years ago when the exchange rate was closer to 51 cents on the dollar, seemed like everything was half price

was there just the other summer ago, While on the way to Alaska, my family spent around 2 to 3 weeks there. The Rockies were amazing, Lake Louise was still frozen! One of the neatest towns was whitehorse, little for the capial of Yukon, but neat. The only major complaint was with the whole border crossing thing. Its was amazing, right after my dad told them we had 2 45-70's, they asked us to pull up so they could search the vehicle, after about 2 hours they were satisfied that the guns were for bear protection while hiking in Alaska. other than that, loved the land. We drove both the Alaska highway and (forgot the name, think it starts with k or c ) only got 4 rock chips in the windsheild. Cant wait to go back!

It's all perception

With the same amount of money in my pockets:

When I'm in Canada, I feel rich.
When I'm in the US, I feel like a Canadian.

rr, maybe this will make you feel better.
In Italy, a nicely equipped F150 costs about 65 Million Lira.
