Question Factory Options

Iam going to buy a 1999 F150 SuperCab for 10 grand, however there is few details given about what factory options are installed. Does anyone know where I can find on the web if using the VIN to identify what factory options are installed.

The VIN will only tell you things like year, make, model, motor, driveline, what type of box you have, and sequence number.

If you want to find out the asthetics like colour, trim level, what stereo or tranny the truck has, you won't be able to get it off the VIN. Unfortunately...

I don't quite understand your question. Are you curious to know what was factory and what was aftermarket or dealer installed?

Or is this a case where you are purchasing the vehicle without seeing it first ('cause it sounds like a deal)?

Have a FORD dealer's service department run the VIN number for details.

I called Geico, to see if I could save any money on my insurance (which in my case was a load of crap, by the way, they wanted $330 a month for liability and I have a perfect driving record) and they asked for the VIN, and I gave it to them and they knew everything there was to know about my truck. She knew the color, the engine and rear-end, the tranny, everything. Even knew it was a Lariat.
